Anyone expecting twins? Double buggy dilemma...

Hi I'm expecting twins who are due to arrive in August :) I'm considering forking out for the Bugaboo Donkey but would be interested to hear if anyone else has experience with this? I'm not sure it will fit in the boot of my car (a Ford Focus) with carry cots etc. Any double buggy comments would be appreciated! Thanks....

There is an antenatal thread in Talk/Becoming a parent/Antenatal clubs

There are also a multiple births topic in Talk/Being a parent/Multiple births

Double buggy wise, I got a Out'N'About Nipper 360 and love it.

Thanks very much I just found the multiple birth thread so I've posted the same question on there!

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :) x

You're really best asking for pushchair advice on the pushchair board here.

In terms of the Donkey, I think there are many positives but the one major thing that sticks out to me is that you will need to put it into single mode to fit in the boot (and even then I'm not sure it'll fit with the carrycots as the fold is enormous). Converting it from single to double mode is really faffy and difficult. Now picture yourself on a wet day, the babies are crying and you just want to get them both into the pushchair and go. You spend a while fiddling with the Donkey chassis and producing carrycots from wherever you managed to store them in the car. I'm exhausted just thinking about it! Also, if you want to put car seats on the chassis they make it very wide which kind of defeats the point of the donkey's narrow chassis IMO.

The one pushchair which comes to mind for a mum expecting twins with a large budget is the new iCandy peach blossom 2. They have only recently arrived in the uk and stock is very much limited so you would need to get an order in pretty quick (and do it with John Lewis as they have the most stock and have stock sooner than elsewhere).

Also the mima Kobi is worth a look. It's beautiful to look at and to push, and has carrycots inside the seat units so saves space with not needing to store seats and carrycots.

Whatever you decide may work, you really need to try in your car first though.

Good luck Smile

Congratulations! I have the donkey and love it but it is HUGE, we had a Peugeot 307, couldn't get the carrycots in or any shopping / anything else into the boot apart from the chassis. We had to get a Zafira!

My friend has twins and had the mountain buggy with twin carrycot, I loved it as it meant the twins slept together, she even used it during the night as she quickly discovered they liked being together rather than in seperate Moses baskets.
