practical advice re:baby washing needed

Hi, advice needed from anyone who has already got a LO! Im expecting my 1st in a few weeks.
I live in a small London flat on the first floor. We dont have anywhere outdoors to hang washing so we usually only do washing twice a week and hang it on a clothes horse...its gets all a bit congested and damp, hence why we only do it twice a week! Also, our washing machine is in our joint kitchen/sitting room and is the loudest thing known to man. You cant even have a conversation when its on!
Im wondering what to do when baby comes in a few weeks - I've heard that baby's clothes need lots of changing, so what can I do with all the vom/poo covered clothes/muslin squares till the next wash? Dont want to leave them hanging around making everything in the flat smell but really cant do a wash everyday! Any suggestions?? Thank you and sorry for really silly question!

I second the DriBuddy. My DC isn't due until October, but we have had the DriBuddy for about 3 years now, and haven't noticed a massive increase in our electricity bill. In our old flat I could wash and dry 2 loads of washing in a day and the third load would be dry the following morning. (the washing machine in our old flat had a 30 minute quick wash function, whereas where we are now the quick wash is 2.5 hours)

Second a lot of these ideas - had a v sicky, pooey baby apparently!!

Muslins & Bibs are easier to change than a whole outfit.

I had a nappy pail that I would soak filthy clothes in, in Napisan.

#2 due in Nov, & although have space for airers now & we're moving to a bigger place, the heated airers seem like genius ideas!!!

Another vote for the Lakeland heated airer here! We also have one of those plastic trugs in the kitchen with napisan in it for soaking poo explosions and bibs. I seem to do her washing about twice a week, even with weaning and attempted crawling...

Was also worrying about this! Drying outside isn't an option right now... and all our radiators are electric so currently use 2 clothes horses to dry clothes. Was thinking about getting a drier... does anyone have any recommendations? We'd need a condenser one I think! Something not so pricey too!

We have a bosch drier, and it is great. Its a condenser, with a removable cartridge for the water (but you can convert it drain down a pipe later if you want to, e.g. if you move). We bought it as a cheaper option to the Siemens model we wanted (it seems exactly the same as the Siemens one, made by the same company etc, just cheaper), but it was still not exactly an impulse buy!!! I would recommend it though, as it does actually dry the clothes properly on one cycle (our old washer dryer didn't), and can be programmed for various fabrics so you don't damage the clothes so much by drying them.

We live in 1 bed flat and dry our clothes in the living room too - definitely get a dehumidifier! We got ours dead cheap on Gumtree, improved our quality of life so much, especially in winter when you don't want to open windows.
