Is there any truth in the myth that how sick you are depends on whether you're having a boy or a girl? Also should I be worried if I've been very ill for a week and feel better today? Terrified of missed mc...

I felt crap all of last week, no vomit but all day constant nausea. I'm considering it a blessing that it spontaneously stopped on Tuesday!

I think, being a pessimistic person, I focus too much on why it could be a negative thing! On the plus side, probably shifted a bit of weight since pregnancy symptoms kicked in. Ha.

My morning sickness with this pregnancy was on and off one week totally rubbish next nothing. I'm now 26wks. And I did lose weight to begin with thus is a boy.

My other 2 previous pregnancies was all day morning noon & night sickness which eased at about 18 wks was in hospital for dehydration both dd's.

So try not to worry hard I no as when mine eased for that week it came back.
And congrats :)

I was hospitalised with excessive sickness (hyperemisis) in both pg and had a boy and a girl.

argh, that's got to be unbearable, regular 'morning' sickness is hardly pleasant.

I had really bad sickness weeks 4-6 and then it completely stopped and I remember really stressing about a mc! It came back with a venegence at 8 weeks though! From what I've heard it comes and goes quite often so no worries!
My understanding is that baby girls generally cause more sickness as they are increase the hormone rush...(Im having a girl btw).

That's what I've heard but I've also heard it's an old wives' tale. Will have to wait and see! :)

I was sick as a dog with DS between weeks 5 and 10 had to carry a load of sick bags everywhere and mostly lay around hugging my sick bowl, it was all day

I stopped being sick at 10 weeks but most foods still made me queezey till long after he was born

Happenstance · 05/05/2012 12:11

first time round i was sick all day every day for 6 months, second time i never even new i was pregnant till 10 weeks, slight sicky feeling but nothing else.

I'm 20 weeks, lost nearlt 2 stone through being sick and been on a drip 7 times. I'm having a boy. If it's worse with a girl I'm only having the 1!!Shock

My DD has just turned 2 & I honestly don't remember it being this miserable being pg with her (I'm nearly 12wks!!). I think I threw up slightly on occassion with her, when cleaning teeth, went off tea & generally felt a bit sea or travel sick. This time it goes up & down & I can throw up a couple of times 1 day and the next just feel queasy. I've also had proper cravings & aversions.

I don't think it makes much difference, as my DH's Nana had 2 boys, first pg like my first, 2nd pg like my current...
