Hi I'm after some help on the topic really im pregnant with my 3rd but with my 1st 2 I tried and failed at it due to blocked ducts and mastitis I seem to block very fast and easily, with my 1st I breast fed for 3wk and ended up very poorly from mastitis with my 2nd I went 3 days and all of a sudden had so much milk (twice the amount from my first) and blocked instantly I tried to breat feed, pump and then massage to unblock them but nothing worked so had to just leave them to dry up I went through 2 bath sheets a night while this was happening and my lil man would scream an cry as he couldn't get anything out it was like the let down reflex wasn't working as it should.
That's a bit of bk ground.

Any tips? And reccomendations for accessories all I really know is I need lots of pads and a good bra any other useful things I might need?

See if you can get some proactive counselling from a breast feeding counsellor - NCT /la leche league before hand as it sounds like you had a really traumatic time. By setting up a link now it might give you some valued support at the time you need it?
If you pump you stimulate production so it might be counter productive- ie you end up with more white stuff than you know what to do with. Never had mastitis but got blocked duct, was advised to gently massage and soak boob in bath or warm shower, that and feeding did help clear duct.
Good luck, I'm dead impressed you're up for it 3rd time!

I had the same problems with DS so I sympathise. There is a breast/bottle feeding forum on here which might be useful? I believe lecithin supplements can help some women with recurrent blocked ducts. Some areas have a programme of peer support for breastfeeding, LLL or your midwife should know about it, as well as any local breastfeeding consellors or specially trained midwives who can give advice. A well fitting bra is key as well.
Good luck, I am determined to make it work this time as well :-D
