Hi all, I had my 20 week scan at 21 + 5 .
According to the little graphs in my notes the baby in measuring over the top line ,but when I mentioned this to the midwife she totally dismissed me and said "it's only a scan"
Femur. 44mm
HC. 202mm
AC. 192mm
Does anyone know if these measurements "normal" ?

Hello... No advice on the measurements I'm afraid, but its probably not worth worrying too much. My friend had a huge bump and various scans, and was told she was going to have a massive baby (14-pounder!!!) so was transferred from her local hospital to my local hospital which has a specialised unit, can give epidurals, perform emergency c-sections etc... After all of this scaremongering, she produced a little boy who was around 8lbs! I, on the other hand, became the proud Mumma of a 9lb2 bundle of joy when my measurements were 'normal' Hmm

Just don't worry, you'll be fine! Just remember to breathe deeply on the gas and air! It's good stuff

Thanks Suzy, I guess I'll just go with flow.
I think I was just surprised at the midwife,
she didn't even look at the measurements,
but I thought why take them if they are not important.

Yes I know what you mean. I had to have a scan on my birthday at 34 weeks because the midwife was concerned that DS was breech, and when they measured him one said he was on the big side and the other said he was normal. I was just pleased he was up the right way! Enjoy your pregnancy :)

They take the measurement to check they're within the typical range. I'd guess, by your midwife's response, that your baby is fine.
