I'm 5+2, very early days I know, with dc2, and I have stretchy, pulling pains down the left hand side of my groin, from just under tummy.

It feels like the round ligament pain I had with dc1, although I was far further on before I had it, and it's not painful, just niggly and annoying. Not all the time, but if I move the wrong way, or sometimes it just pulls without me doing anything.

Terrified it's an ectopic, although guessing there would be no pain. I've had no bleeding. It really feels just like a protesting muscle.

Doctors is closed, midwife not answering phone. It's ok, isn't it? I am so anxious about this pregnancy. :(

Also, I had this on the opposite side yesterday, although it didn't drag on as much as today's fun has.

I had the same thing, hence why I thought I was ectopic.

I rushed to A&E, had scan, and it turned out everything was fine.

I would call up NHS direct to be on the safe side though.

I did exactly the same as milk at 6 weeks. All was fine.

You should get scanned because otherwise you'll spend the next 6 weeks panicking, but most likely everything is fine.

Do you have a number for your nearest early pregnancy unit?

Yes I had this, really painful. Called midwife to be told it was probably ligament pain. In actual fact I think it was trapped wind Blush

I have this right now too, I'm 5+3. I have aches and pains in my abdomen and if I move the wrong way it hurts. Apparently it is just ligaments etc. moving around. If it was ectopic then it would just be on one side, but mine moves from one side to the other and sometimes both.

It seems to be quite common, but if you're worried get it checked out or you'll drive yourself crazy. I'm going to see the GP tomorrow and I'm going to bring it up.

LondonMrsS · 03/05/2012 16:24

I should also add that the epu I went too took me completely seriously and said I was right to get it checked- in short, they didn't make me feel like a paranoid idiot, so don't feel stupid for demanding advice.

Thanks everyone. Will call midwife in the morning and see what she says: she was very good when I was there on Tuesday as she knows about the bleeding I had with dc1, and said if I had any concerns to phone and they'd see about an early scan.

Have a private one booked for 7+4, but if this carries on I'll be a nut job by then!
