Ok, probably far toooooooooo tooooooo toooooooo much information, but my midwife scares me, so I though I'd ask on here first.
Last couple of weeks I've been having really bad period cramps, I've never really suffered with period cramps before. Doctor said these could be BH.
Anyway last couple of days these cramps have been with really, REALLY bad backache and I've had an upset tummy; haven't eaten anything unusual.
This afternoon had strangest, painful sensation down low. Like a sharp stabbing pain, and it made me feel like I needed to push out a poo. (I did warn about too much info!) I've noted the time, but is this the start of early labour? Was that a proper contraction? I'm 39+3

Sounds like it could be, the early cramps were like period pain to me, with lots of back ache too. Have you got your bag packed? Do you need to contact your DP/DH?

Gingerbreadlatte · 02/05/2012 14:07

I'd call your midwife now...

If you feel that poo sensation, it could be constipation or head engaging but given you've had a few days of cramps I'd suggest you need looking at to check you arent dilating.

The bad stomach are classic signs of going into labour though it could be coincidence.

PS its not early at 39+3. Full term is any time from 37/38wks!

I don't want them to think that I'm a time waster :( I've had a few more twinges since, but not the massive pain.

Sounds like it could be things moving along nicelySmile

Keep us updated, I like a labour thread! Just try to get some rest while you can.

Sounds like labour to me!! My friend went into early labour at 34 weeks but didn't think she could possibly be in labour so just put up with the pain until it got too much!! Then she called her midwife who told her she was in labour. Go and have a bath!

GrossePopel · 02/05/2012 18:02

Good luck mango, sounds like it starting... Smile

chipsandmushypeas · 02/05/2012 18:39

Wow! Good luck mango!

mangomadness · 04/05/2012 14:50

No baby :-( the pains stopped at 5:30 yesterday morning. Went to doc today and he said baby is fully engaged and heartbeat says that it's fully cooked :) he said it may have been early signs of labour that started then stopped, a practice run, or the head fully engaging. Going to go out for lunch tomorrow and have a pampering day, just in case!

OOOOooo how exciting - imminent birth!!! eek! Grin

mangomadness · 12/05/2012 08:45

Sadly still no baby :( I think my womb is just toooooooooo nice! Thankfully booked in for start of inducement next week so fingers crossed I'll have some good news!

Problem is that I'm a week further gone than my edd, as we were trying I was anal about recording dates so know when the magic really happened. Luckily midwife has taken this into consideration so I shouldn't go too overdue.
