I am currently lying in bed trying not to over think the pains I'm currently having ( ESP as DH is lying next to me snoring!) But the intensity is quite something - I'm hoping it's just baby having a little nuzzle further in my fanjo as am only 38 + 1!

Last apt with MW showing as 3/5 engaged. Can anyone provide any kind words of reassurance?! Thanks

I used to stop and think at every pain. The way I realised they were cx was if i counted the length and frequency. if i fell asleep while counting then they werent cxs.

I think theres a site where you click when they start and again when the pain ends and just keep going and it times it for you.

Good luck!

Btw I dont think ill be able to describe the actual feeling.

At the beginning of labour, my cx felt like long, clearly defined, individual waves of mega-super-intense period pain. Period pain usually feels like a constant dull ache to me, but cx were like "Oh right, now I'm having a pain.... and... oh right, now I'm not anymore" Like someone was switching them on... then off again... then on... then off again. Does that make sense? Try timing them and see good luck!

Thank both - I think you both gave an accurate description of the current state of affairs Wink

Just running a bath to try to alleviate some of the pain whilst timing them at least.

I thought as much Grin

I took some paracetomol about 45 mins ago as was starting to feel very uncomfortable.

Pains currently coming every 6/7 mins - hoping they are just some cheeky BH sent to test me although the intensity is quite something!

Try to ignore it if possible. Early labour can last a while! Nunights x

Desperately trying to do exactly that - I just want to sleep but only thing that seems to help is rocking on my ball ahh!

38 weeks is full term! could very well be labour...
try to rest your bod for now, Juju Sundin says to rest your legs especially because you'll use them later on, on birthing ball/squatting etc.!
