Gah, i feel like I am becoming The Most Needy Pregnant Mumsnetter on these boards. Sorry for yet another post begging for reassurance, but...

I am 8+5 today and over the lat couple of days all my symptoms seem to have vanished. I only had a little bit of nausea anyway (from week 7-8), and my boobs were a little bit sore when I took my bra off at night. And I had been getting quite out-of-breath whilst walking around etc.

But now: Nothing. Nada.

Am really anxious that something has gone wrong. I am so scared of having a MMC. Had a spontaneous early MC in Jan and just don't think I can go through this again :(

On the plus side, I had an early scan this time at 7+2, so only just over a week ago, and everything was fine, and we saw the heartbeat.

PLEASE can someone else reassure me who's had their symptoms vanish at around 8 and a half weeks and everything worked out fine? I know some ladies on here have no symptoms at all and also worry, but to me this seems worse that they should suddenly stop.

Please give me a verbal cuddle. DH is out tonight and I am home alone going slowly insane.

I was really ill with my first pregnancy from weeks 6-11/12. This time I had a few days of terrible nausea at around 7 weeks, then it just stopped. I had a scan at 7+5 and 8+5 and all was well. I had a few more spells of nausea from 11 weeks and still feel queasy occasionally at 14+2.
I was petrified when the nausea stopped, as I had had it all the time in my first pregnancy. It can be a sign of MMC, but that really is unlikely. My consultant told me that after a scan at 6 weeks the chance of pregnancy continuing is about 90% and about 95% after a scan at 8 weeks. Of the miscarriages that do happen, the vast majority will have some bleeding.
Believe me I know how worried you are, try to do something nice to take your mind of it, sleep lots etc, and one day the nausea will hit again and you'll wish it was gone again!!

YES. The exact same thing happened to me. Was so sick god I was really vomiting. I had a private scan at 6 weeks and heartbeat found. Then at 8 weeks it just stopped suddenly. Wasn't sick and I just panicked I felt not pregnant. No sign of MC butth

So I forked out for another private scan at weeks (neurotic!!)

HeidiHole · 26/04/2012 20:26

Oops posted too soon. No sign of MC but worried about MMC.

8 week private scan fine, calmed my nerves and now I'm nearly 38 weeks!

I remember how worried I felt but Im sure it's fine!

BillyBollyBandy · 26/04/2012 20:27

It's fine, symptoms will come and go. Tomorow you will be feeling rough as arses, wondering why on earth you were wishing that the morning sickness would come back the day before.

We've all done it Grin

HeidiHole · 26/04/2012 20:28

Oh and the nausea came back. What a bitch it was :)

Thanks guys, feeling a bit calmer now. Sometimes just helps knowing other people have had the same, you know?

Feeling really sad tonight anyway as have just found out one of my best friends found out she'd had a MMC at her 12 week scan today - just seems like everyone I know has had a MC of some sort this year :( Very upset for her and obvs not helping with my anxiety.

I have my booking appointment with the midwife tomorrow anyway, so maybe I can talk to her about this as well. I am also thinking that I might book a private scan at 10 weeks (ie, in just over a week's time), to tide me over till the 12 week NHS one. I just don't think I can wait until 23 May feeling this stressed!

Am gonna try and send some positive calm vibes in the direction of the bean from now on - sure this level of stress can't be doing it any good :-/

Just be careful you don't end up in a spiral of wanting reassurance. Cruel though it sounds, you can only be sure the baby is still well and healthy at the precise time of each scan.

It is natural of course to worry, but if you have no reason to think anything has gone wrong try and embrace the pregnancy (easier said than done I know)

StateofConfusion · 26/04/2012 20:58

Try not to worry i had the same when pregnant with my eldest, the pregnancy i had with strongest symptoms ended in mmc Hmm Keeping calm is the best thing you can do and if your really concerned call the EPU.

ledkr · 26/04/2012 21:04

I had the same thing with my last pregnancy.I had had a previous mmc and just hardly felt pregnant.Any symptoms id had were gone and i worried all the time,i also had period pains which made it worse.
My dd is now one and a red headed bundle of energy, you will be fine.

JimbosJetSet · 26/04/2012 21:06

I second what Billy said... A scan can only reassure you for as long as you are in the room looking at the screen. Im not sure it will put your fears to rest completely, if you are a worrier by nature! I was the same with first DD - I felt sure I'd feel reassured and happy once I'd had the 12 week scan. A day or so after the scan I started to worry, but I was sure I'd def feel happy once I'd had the 16 week check. Then I was hanging on for the 20 week scan... So it continues.

The good news is, you will probably feel far more relaxed by the time you are expecting your second!

I’ve come across this post as if I could have written it myself, was there an update @DangerMousey?
