I just had my 32 week MW appt. The MW thinks that the baby is back to back. It was really hard to find the heartbeat as it was right round my left hand side, it was quite hard to feel quite where she was too. Baby is head down which is good.

I have been getting really bad back pain which MW thinks could be caused by being back to back.

Is there anyway to try and get her to move round?

Thanks

I was told by my MW to get on my hand and knees and clean my skirting boards !!! Grin By doing this you are rocking backwards and forwards on your hands and knees which may help the baby to moveGood Luck xx

Sitting on a birth ball, making sure you don't slouch back on the sofa/when in bed - sit up right or slightly forward, sitting astride a chair turned backwards, kneeling on all fours (over a birth ball, edge of sofa). Swimming (on your front) can also help.

Basically if you slouch backwards you open up space towards the back of the womb, so baby flips round that way, so you need to do the opposite and try to open up space at the front to encourage baby to move round.

At 32 weeks you still have time to get her in a good position and she could still change position naturally, my DS was OP at 36 weeks and at a check yesterday (40+1) had moved to ROA - I tried to keep more upright and he moved naturally by himself (flipped OP - ROA several times in fact).

Try a website called spinningbabys.com Think it's it's name. Dd1 was facing the wrong way, so was told about this site from an NCT teacher.

Thank you Smile

I will try everything suggested to see if I can get her to budge round a bit. She's having a huge wriggle at the minute so maybe she is moving.

According to my MW, its very comfortable for a baby to be back to back as they can use your spine as a hammock. My baby turned back to back during the first few days of my maternity leave as, rather than being sat upright at my desk/walking about the office, I was slumped on the sofa which gave the baby the space to move around. I then a few days being really conscious about my posture, how I was sitting etc and spent a lot of time on the birthing ball and the baby has moved back around again (I'm now 38 weeks).
