Maternity sleep bras ... good idea? Any recommendations?

I'm only about 7 weeks along and my breasts aren't particularly larger yet but they are really sore! The worst bit is when I take my bra off before getting into bed. Eventually I have to let them go to put on my PJ's and then it's "ouch". However I lie they sort of stretch out somewhere and it hurts :(

In the great scheme of things this isn't disaster (I'd rather cure my nausea and tiredness than this) but I'd be happier if it didn't happen and was thinking that perhaps a maternity sleeping bra might be the answer?

this one from jojo maman babe looks comfortable

Does anyone have any ideas? Are maternity sleep bras a rubbish idea? Do you have any recommendations? To complicate things a bit, I'm a 32F or FF. I did think about sleeping in my day-time/normal bras but with the underwire I reckon that'd feel yucky.

Why do you need to sleep with a bra? I prefer to be free!!! ("HH"!)
The trouble with maternity/breast-feeding bras is after loads of washes, I got rashes from the worn elasticated, bits. - prefer to let the skin breathe when it can. Maybe try massage or expressing a little to ease it?

I slept in maternity bras till the pain in my boobs eased off after around fourteen weeks, I bought two wraparound ones from mothercare and they did really help on the early daysSmile

Sos just saw your link and they look pretty identical to the ones I bought and I think cheaper too

I find maternity bras too uncomfortable to sleep in... but I've just bought a comfortisse bra and although I don't find it to be supportive enough for day wear, it's very comfortable for wearing to bed.

I an a H cup at the moment (35 Weeks) and have been since two seconds after conception. normally a DD/E. Generally I have found maternity bras and sleep bras next to useless. They offer no support to the bigger bust I found. I ended up getting myself some really well fitted underwired bras and wearing them to bed.much better support and keeps the boobs from flopping about in the night which hurts.

I found my sleep bras really useful with my DD although I'm less busty (was DD, then went to E/F, G at birth). I don't think they would be necessarily a waste of money as I continued to use them when bf-ing, to keep a breast pad in place during night & first thing in the morning feeds.

Haven't needed them so far this pg (only 10wks) as my breasts are nowhere near as sore. Kept them though (DD is 2), again, as I plan to bf.

No recommendations as to which ones other than to say when I bought maternity bras they didn't have the clippy bits at the top so you can use them as feeding bras once the baby arrives - I just bought the standard M&S maternity ones.

When it was time to get feeding bras they were identical to the maternity ones other than the clippy bit so you can open them up.

In hindsight, I wish I'd bought feeding ones straight away rather than maternity ones so that I could have used them afterwards if I'd needed to.

Having said that some places do sell maternity/feeding bras, it's just I happened to live near an M&S so it was the easiest place to go, knew I needed a maternity bra, saw the packet and picked it up. Guess it is good sales for them - I ended up buying two sets of bras rather than one!

Was wise to it when ds2 came around and got away with just the one set!

Bravado nursing bras are very comfortable to sleep in. I tried various maternity sleep bras when pregnant with DD and they were universally awful, got several Bravado ones in the later stages of pregnancy and I've been wearing them ever since. I've been BFing DD for a year and am now pregnant with no.2 - I can highly recommend them for comfort:

Thanks everyone for your help!

optimal I want to sleep with a bra to stop them, um, flopping Blush when I'm in bed as it really really hurts. Massage hurts!

susiloo I didn't think to look on mothercare. Thinking about it, I think the ones I linked mightn't be supportive enough.

thepleaser don't the underwires feel yucky when you're in bed? I did think of trying that though.

zipzap good point I think about getting nursing ones.

spoutlet I tghink that those bravado ones might be the winner. John Lewis do them online so I might do an order.

The other idea I had was one of these pj tops with a built in bra type thing from bravissimo . I was going to go in today but feel just dreadful with nausea (when will it end?????) and just can't bear the thought of moving :(
