Hi, I'm 17 weeks and am feeling really exhausted and sleepy after eating, despite eating really small meals and ot very often. Appetite has been quite severely affected by pregnancy, but haven't felt like this before.

Anyone out there who can reassure me this is normal? My stomach already feels resident up near my lungs! Smile

are you eating carb heavy meals? if you are it could be that.

yes! i am - not just tired, totally wiped out and can barely keep my eyes open. It probably is after carb heavy meals but they don't normally have this effect on me - bit worried it might be a sign of gestational diabetes, or is that just silly?

I know I'm not as far gone as you (10+1wks) but I'm feeling the same Sad

I have only managed one triangle of pizza for dinner followed by a yoghurt and I had 2 small glasses of yummy smoothie with it (probably filled me up tbh!).

I have managed to take my pregnacare today tho so feeling a bit more virtuous
(making me heave a bit)

hello yes i had this until about half way through 2nd trimester. ate and had to leave the table whilst partner still eating and curl up on sofa, even curled up in the pub a few times, just couldn't be upright had to get my head down and rest! seems to have passed now - 32 weeks.

Eat Sleep Eat Sleep Eat Sleep Cry Eat...

Yup, seems like my body is trying to get me to empathise with the routine of a newborn. You can add a Pee after each item there and maybe get closer to my full day's routine.

I wonder if its like getting up to pee x times a night, gets you used to night waking so you resent the baby less for interupting your sleep?

I'm regularly floored after eating and I think it's to do with my low blood pressure. I'm told that the blood pressure problems are likely to ease around 20 weeks (I'm also 17 weeks) I'm hoping that all the associated problems are going to disappear then too. Hope same goes for you Smile.

Thanks ladies. Good to know I'm not alone!

I was eating carbs in meals, but not 'heavy' carb meals. Have tried to up the protein and reduce the carbs to see if that helps....
