Had this moderately to bad in 1st pregnancy. Already seen the Obstetric Phsyio (I'm 13 wks) only some twinges at this stage. I have a regimine to embark on, just wondering if anyone has found any preventative measures that have been to their advantage in a subsequent pregnancy to encourage me!

Yes, I have.

With PG2 I had SPD, not bad enough to need crutches or anything, but enough to affect my mobility and cause pain and discomfort. I saw a chiropractor from about 26 weeks and had good results.

This time I went to chiropractor as soon as I felt first twinges at 18 weeks and the results have been amazing. My pelvis/back no longer seizes up and I have only minor twinges in certain positions. I've still got 10 weeks left of pregnancy, so I'm glad I got it sorted early.

Good luck!

Me too, I was virtually immobile in late preg with ds1, but this time have taken preventative measures (physiotherapy and chiropractor) from 11 weeks and it's not really bothering me at all. This time I also know what NOT to do too and I think that's making a difference (no breast stroke, sitting cross legged in yoga etc). Am only 28 weeks but know already I'm in much less pain at this stage than I was last time.
Good luck!

I'm doing a lot better this time around (28 weeks now). I think mainly it was knowing the SPD was coming and avoiding all the things that aggravate it. Lifting, mopping, hoovering, anything that spreads the legs, etc. Also been wearing my tubigrip when doing anything remotely strenuous and it actually does help (I was very doubtful about it!).

I saw an osteopath last time and that was the only thing that helped. I'm sure by this time I was using crutches and couldn't walk more than about 30 feet. This time I can still run after my 2 year old, but it does hurt for about 2 days after :)

This is so encouraging I cannot tell you! I have an 18 month old and with her I was quite bad at times every movement hurt even just hitting the accelerator pedal when driving. I was feeling a bit doomed and this being miserable what with having a toddler - so thank you for this! I'm going to faithfully do my exercises, and be careful how I move. I can feel my hips 'giving' at this stage (you know loose) but no pain. I've got a great osteo I can use if things do get painful. I'm feeling really positive now :)
