I have a lot of discharge anyway, am 33.3 and I know from last time it gets heavier at the end, but this morning I got up and was soaked, had to get changed straight away. Too early for leaky waters isn't it? Or plug?

Am waiting for GP to ring about something else, feeling dreadful today but not sure if this is worth mentioning or ringing midwife about. And feel a bit stupid as its probably very normal! It also stings a bit when I wee but I find this is often the case in the morning.

Ring MW, please.

Even if it is just an increase in discharge or leaking urine it does need looked at just in case it is waters.

It is never too early for leaking waters as sadly they can break or leak at any time. If yours have broken then the hospital might need to keep you in for observation or for you to have the baby early.

My mum's waters broke at 28 weeks with my brother, but they were able to hold her off from labour till 33 weeks.... DB was born tiny, but is now a tall, strapping 19 year old gym freak Grin

Even if you think you're just being paranoid let your MW check you over for peace of mind if nothing else.

Congrats on pregnancy :) I'm 22 weeks with DC2 and agree there are so many questions and worries sometimes.

Not to early for waters, my waters have gone early all 3 times.

Please get checked out - especially as you're feeling under the weather, if your waters have gone you might be brewing an infection.

Go to the hospital, they will be happy to check you over.

Thanks will do after GP calls me back-don't want to use phone in case I miss it. Or will ask GP, not sure which is best though prob midwife? It wasn't that much iyswim, enough to soak through my knickers but not more than that. But it is worth the embarrassment you are right.

Hope they don't want to see me I am a state today and want to sleep while DD at school. Lovely story about your brother, must have been scay at the time though.

Congrats to you too!

methe sorry x posts. yes will def speak to midwife, am feeling weepy and tired and rubbish generally, think may be coming down with DH's cold but you are both right, its more important to get it checked to be on safe side. Have only seen GP once this pg mainly due to stupid appointments system putting me off and having so much to do with DD who has SN but I prob need to look after myself a bit more, all the minor pg ailments are getting to me today.

Phone the MW rather than the GP

Flisspaps · 23/04/2012 09:48

Apologies, didn't read OP properly! Hope GP calls soon, or can you use another phone to ring MW?

ebbandflow · 23/04/2012 09:50

My water's felt like warm water from a bath when they broke. I def had increased discharge when I was pregnant. I'd agree about contacting MW.

used2bthin · 23/04/2012 10:06

yes maybe I will ring mw from mobile. These people are all so hard to get hold of or maybe everything just feels harder.

ebbandflow mine broke last time as I stood up, there was a kind of popping feel then loads of water, it def wasn't like that and the other thing is after they broke last time they just kept leaking whereas I seem to be dry now so prob ok. Will ring though. The discharge is horrible isn't it? Makes me feel uncomfortable all the time but pads make itworse. Usually it isn't watery though other tan this morning so I will still call and check.

If you are struggling to contact your own midwife, this is the sort of thing that the hospital antenatal care number is for.

treedelivery · 23/04/2012 14:11

Just ring delivery suite. That is what it is there for Smile GP of no use in a situation like this - in the nicest possible way.

Good luck x

Yummymummyyobe1 · 23/04/2012 15:15

I second that treedelivery our delivery suite have been wonderful over the past month or so. They will monitor you and baby and will do a quick internal examination/test.

xx
