SPD support bands - recommendations?

Hi, I am 14 weeks pregnant with my second child and my Chiro told me, when I last saw him several weeks ago, that I have he beginnings of SPD. I am now starting to get a very achy pelvis and pain at the front, in the pubic joint. I have no bump yet and didn't have this last pregnancy though had very bad upper back and rub pain. I have slight scoliosis back pain and see a Chiro when not pregnant anyway.

Would anyone be able to recommend an SPD support band that they have used as I want to start managing this ASAP! www.physiosupplies.com/fitness/Serola-Sacroiliac-Support-Belts.html - I have seen this one recommended.

www.physiosupplies.com/fitness/Serola-Sacroiliac-Support-Belts.html - also looking at this one.

www.physiotherapystore.com/hip+brace.html and this one. I have no idea what the difference is really...

Any tips on how to manage this also much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

You should really seek advie from a specialist obstetric physio. The NHS usually can refer you quickly and they can assess you and decide which type is best and therefore fit it correctly. I did this in my last pregnancy and they even arranged acupuncture and massage as well as the belt!

I had SPD last time, NHS physio gave me a support band/ girdle thing. I know it had to be 1. My size 2. Fitted by her so I knew how to put it on safely.
Could your chiropractor recommend one and help fit it? Just a thought? And did he give you any exercises/ advice on correct posture etc. I have utterly no recollection of what I was told (!) but I know it helped. Good luck and hope you nip it in the bud

Thank you both - yes I will mention it to midwife or maybe see the GP before that if I feel I need to and ask for a referral.

Interestingly my chiro didn't say very much as it hadn't really begun yet - I had no idea until he told me my pelvis was out and it could start - so I didn't ask much tbh. One side of my pelvis is usually higher than the other normally so that won't help. Next time I see him I will press him a lot more. It only really became noticeable yesterday when I sat cross legged, something I won't be doing again soon!
