...tell me it'll be ok please? Am finding the training a lot harder now i'm pregnant, and my teammates don't know, should i tell them? Think i'm going to be a lot slower than I hoped.

Oh sorry to waffle think i just need reassurance that walking 26.2 miles overnight while i'm knackered and suffering from morning sickness will be ok!

I think you'll be ok as it's a walk. I did a 5 mile charity walk when I was 37 weeks pregnant (I had put on 4 stone at this stage) and my GP/midwife said it was fine as it's still gentle excersise and good to keep excercising.

BUT.. do speak to your GP/midwife if you have any concerns. Personally at 8 weeks pg I tend to be so exhausted I can barely walk anywhere. It's not something I could have contemplated. But everyone's different.

I think you will be fine. I would tell your team mates though as it would not be a good idea to push yourself too hard. You could always give it a go on the understanding that if it gets too much you will stop, at least then you have given it your best shot! Good luck!

I couldn't have done it. I couldn't stay awake past 9pm never mind 12! But you may feel perfectly fine. Is switching to the half moon walk an option if you dont feel up to the full 26miles?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/04/2012 11:33

i dont think i can switch now, thank you for the reassurance.

I think i will just try and take it easy and stop if i have to, also i'll tell the girls.

Thanks!

I ran 10k on return from honeymoon (so next to no training as was completely wedding focussed for months) and I was 2 weeks pregnant; it was cool and y second best time (although a pants one - about 1hr 15m).

I should think you'll be OK; try to prepare bodily in terms of sleep and food. Take some bananas for sustinance perhaps? And buy some of M&S' posh choc covered ginger (and pear?) biscuits, which are amazing.

Hello - I think the excitement of the atmosphere will take over and you will be fine - I would do as others have said and tell your team mates - no one will blame you if you decide to stop. I felt AWFUL at 8 weeks and could have slept for England, I felt sick and woozy which was so bad it made me cry. I have a horse and continued to ride for a while, and it was the only thing that made me feel ok - I would feel bad until I was on board and instantly I would feel great! Good luck with the walk :)

I did the Great North Run when I was 6 weeks. I was fine. Just make sure you do as your body tells you and rest whenever you need to x

Have to admit no way I could do that at 8 weeks pregnant I wouldn't have been able to stay awake all night let alone walk all that way. Depends how your pregnancy goes though. I felt so awful in the first trimester just managing a normal day was very difficult.

boys3plusbump · 23/04/2012 21:25

Hiya your braver then me!! I'm also 8 weeks pregnant like you I haven't told my team mates, my only worry is last year I took lots of caffeine drinks and high energy tablets to keep me a wake and on the move but being pregnant we can't take anything like that so I'm really worried that we may struggle, also I know I'm only 8 weeks but oh mine I have really put on some weight I've gone up a dress size all over!!!!!!!!!

blushingmare · 23/04/2012 22:15

I ran a marathon when 6 weeks pg, so I'm sure you'll be fine. Mind you, don't think I could have stayed awake all night in the first trimester! I'm sure the atmosphere will carry you through though. Good luck!

MrsHoarder · 24/04/2012 07:19

If you feel up to it you'll be fine, I couldn't have done it but I was being sick a lot at that stage and the world was generally spinning around me.

Don't push yourself too hard though, if you're struggling with training or on the night you can drop out. Just listen to your body.
