SVT and pregnancy

Anyone have this? I have been put on medication for this in order to prevent it occurring in the third trimester. How has this been, during pregnancy, for others with the condition? I have lived with this for many years with docs suggesting it is just a nuisance rather than serious.

I have SVT, very low blood pressure and a slightly closed heart valve, however no medication. I have to meet with my cardiologist regularly and will be on the consultant unit. I just get episodes, palpatations etc but know how to treat them

i have svt, didn't have any problems at all with it during pregnancy or birth. was advised against a home birth though in case i needed a cardiologist should anything go wrong. i have no medication either. don't know if it makes any difference but mine is due to additional nerves, so i'm either having an episode or i'm not iyswim, unless it's happening, there are no symptoms.

Thanks for the replies! Appreciate it. My SVT is due to an extra pathway which I was born with. Episodes minimal - none for 2 yrs, then a couple of short - 1 min long - through this pregnancy. Most people are not put on medication - consultant says this is preventative stuff. Goodness knows why I need it - perhaps it is because I am an OAP mum at nearly 40, so high risk! Will def. have an ablation after birth because, when an episode does occur, it is terrifying.

Hi I've got psvt and am pregnant.
Have been off work since 16 weeks when I had an episode at work of constant attacks coming every minute or do lasting 30 sec each and was taken to a&e.
Was put under consultant care but the advice I've been given was contradictory !
Initial OB said I should go on beta-blockers even with the (very small) risk to the baby.
The second consultant I've seen said I shouldn't before 24 weeks but will be reassessed then.
At that point however the attacks were very rare ( I was resting at home most days) so I refused the beta-blockers.
Have had check-ups since but am feeling fine (3rd trimester has been mostly symptomless!) and have even had the go-ahead for a water birth from the consultant :-) 38 weeks currently.
