Baby clothes sizes??

Help I'm having a panic, just sorting through babies clothes to organise hospital bag & realised that all my clothes are newborn which say for babies up to 10lbs, or 0-3 months. Even the newborn stuff looks big. Iv got one outfit for up to 7.5lbs babies, should I be getting a few vests and babygrows for tiny babies to take to hospital encase mines under this weight?
thanks Hayley xx

My DD was 7.10, and she went into 0-3 months, they were too big, but I just rolled the sleeves up, they wern't stupidly big, and she fit into them in no time! So unless you are expecting a very small baby or an early delivery I wouldn't worry.

Also should you be taken unawares and you do have a very small DC, then you can get the very small size easily, boots, tesco and next off the top of my head, so someone will be able to go out and get some bits for you.

Good luck [busmile]

Ditto what oreocrumbs said, clothes being a bit loose is fine, and better too big than too small. Babies grow so fast anyway. Newborn size should be fine unless the baby is premature or very tiny.

Newborn should be fine. My DD was 6lb 10oz and went in newborn (which she outgrew in 3 weeks!). It dosn't matter if they are a bit big, in fact it will make it easier to dress your baby - clothes that are on the tight side are impossible to get on a floppy screaming baby!

I packed all 0-3 and newborn and my DD1 was 5lb 12oz the nurses went to special care and got some baby grows for her because her arms and legs kept falling out and she was getting stuck haha Grin

My DD was 6lb 14oz and I used a mix of newborn and up to 7.5lb stuff. I was glad I'd bought those few sleep suits in the smaller size as the newborn stuff was really big on her.

This time I'll be packing those smaller ones again.

My dd was six ten but also really short. She dropped to five fifteen. She was swamped by 0-3 months and Dh actually found it hard to find tiny baby stuff in stock, so I would get one pack of vests and one pack of babygros in newborn just to be safe. Dd being quite small was a bit of a worry to me and it upset me that her clothes were so big - sort of underlined how tiny and vulnerable she was.

I had newborn stuff for dd1 and she was 8.5 lbs and it was too small for her. Luckily, we'd brought 0-3 month clothes with us.

I've bought one pack of newborn and one pack of 0-3 months. With DS, DH loved the chance to go to the shops and buy new clothes for DS. Remember that all the shops are open every day so won't be hard to get new clothes.

Thanks all. Think I'll buy a pack of vests & babygrows in the smallest size just encase, will leave them in the packet then if he's bigger I can take them back Smile starting to worry I havn't got all the essentials just under 3 weeks to go am starting to have a bit of a panic
