I am 11+ 3 dc 2 (I know exactly because it's ivf pregnancy). I can't feel my uterus and as I am extremely paranoid about this pregnancy at the best of times it's bothering me! Can't remember when I felt it first with DS.
So, when could you feel yours?

Not until way after 12w. Don't forget at this stage your uterus is still fairly well tucked away down in the pelvis, which is why you end up having to flash half your pubic hair at the sonographer for the 12w dating scan Grin

From about 12 weeks I could feel it just over my pubic bone. I'm now 15+6 and can feel it about half way up to my belly button. I'm quite small tho and have had a very flat stomach so it is easy to feel.

OOOOoooo glad it isn't just me!! I have been thinking this exact same thought. I am 13 weeks tomorrow and can't feel it. I can't remember when I could first time round either, as everything was new then the memories all blur together. It has been making me worry too. Which is probably silly as getting plenty of signals I am as pregnant as can be.

I think this time round I have so much more awareness of what can and does go wrong that I am fretting far more than I did first time even though I should be less anxious than when I was a first time mum!

I was going to post about this as I think I can feel mine but not all the time. When I do yoga I can feel it - it seems to pop out almost. It's like a grapefruit above my pubic bone. Is that it? I am 15+2.

ellangirl · 07/04/2012 20:35

Ok, so I shouldn't be able to feel it yet if you all are my guide! I just can't help worrying, I think like you Gin I have too much knowledge about what can go wrong these days! I haven't had many symptoms this time in comparison to my DS, so that's unsettling me as well.
Polly grapefruit type shape sounds about right, I think lying flat on your back on a firm surface is the best way to feel for it, I wouldn't know about yoga Grin

Was anyone able to feel it earlier with second than first? Everyone keeps saying how you show earlier with second, but I'm just looking chubbier thanks to eating for a whole rugby team!!

oh! is this something you are supposed to do?

ellangirl · 07/04/2012 22:02

I don't believe it's compulsory! I'm always just looking for positive signs to put my mind at ease for a little while until I get something else to worry about Grin

ive never heard of it though! where do you feel and hw do you now if its that and not something else??

Ellen I too have expanded more this time than with first - was in total shock at this fact - I didn't show till about 4 months in with first.

How could I look so pregnant at 10 weeks when baby is the size of a blueberry?!

I am taking some comfort from everyone telling me it is normal for second. But as someone who is used to being really fit and trim it is a surprise.

I am worrying how big I will finally get, as I managed with my size/bulk ok to the end with first, and if I get bigger this time DH might have to use a wheelbarrow! [busad]

Like you, I too have had fewer pregnancy symptoms this time round, and like you, this made me wonder more too, so we are fretters together. [buwink]

Forpitysake It is what the midwives feel for (call it the fundus - top of the uterus and how far up your abdomen it has got) and measure when you have check ups - it just tells them if the baby is growing at expected rate - that's all. But to be honest it is much harder to feel your own than it is for someone else to feel it due to the angle you are at compared to them. Don't need to do it at all, and unless you know what you are looking for it wouldn't tell you much. However, that said, if it is early in your pregnancy and you can feel it it tells you your baby has grown which is reassuring if you are worried. But in actuality the odds are your baby has grown of course! [bugrin]

PollyIndia I would say that is definintely it! To me it feels quite hard too (or it did with first when I was fit as a flea - I'm a bit squishier this time). Hope things are still going well for you, I read your other thread. [busmile]
