Hi, I'm 12+6 with dc3 and been having some trouble and discomfort in my hips/pelvis area for quite some weeks now.
It's worse after any activity like walking or standing for a long time.
I'm getting pain in my hips, lower back and down the front of my thighs. Also when sitting I have pain in my coccyx...it sort of radiates round to my pubic region.

The other evening I parted my legs to wipe after having a wee (tmi sorry) and got a horrid stabbing pain right up my pubic bone, it really took my breath away. It kinda stayed for a hour after and I couldn't part my legs or bend down with it killing me.
I'm wondering if this is the start of pgp/spd or just normal pregnancy stuff? I've not experienced it in my other pregnancies. Hope someone might know. :) thanks x

Sounds alot like SPD to me, matches my symptoms exactly! I'm 28 + 4 and spoke to my midwife about it last week and as I thought there's not much that can be done as SPD, as opposed to PGP which is more in the hip joints, is hormonal. But seriously, if you're worried speak to your community midwife, it's what they're there for! Take it easy, get others to do as much as possible for you!

I never realised spd was hormonal! Thankyou for your reply, I am going back to see my midwife or dr this week. Dr did mention a few weeks ago about possible referral to physio so maybe i should push for this.
congrats on your pregnancy and thanks again for you reply x

Sounds a lot like SPD, I would inform your midwife and hopefully she will refer you to physio.
Please don't let it go untreated until you are 24 weeks as then you are not only in agony but have done a lot of damage!

Sorry I meant to add: sounds a lot like SPD but to rule out PGP a physio should be able to help.
