Really supportive bra!!

I'm 26 weeks and I reckon my bra size shot up at least one if not two back sizes last week. I blithely carried on wearing the same Asda underwired t-shirt bra and it caused some really nasty chaffing under one boob so I really can't wear an underwired bra right now!

I bought some maternity bras from Mamas and Papas this weekend but they're so unsupportive I might as well not be wearing a bra at all and the material on the cups is so thin that the nipple outline showing through my top is obscene!

I've now gone back to the 38D Shock Absorber super high impact running bra that fitted me pre-pregnancy and made some bra expanders so it fits round the back. It's still a bit small on the cups and can't be worn with the average feminine styled, low cut maternity top but compared to anything else I've tried it feels like heaven! Sadly they don't make this bra in my current mahoosive size so I'm wondering if anyone knows of another brand that gives loads of support, has soft cups, breathable fabric and a nice wide non-chaffing under-boob band but goes up to a 42F? I'm guessing I can't be the first pregnant woman to come up against this problem so would be grateful to hear the views of anyone who's found a solution!

PS- if your back size is less than 40 and your having a problem getting enough support from a non- wired bra I fully recommend the Shock Absorbers!!

My boobs become enormous during pregnancy (it was a bit of a shock as someone who used to moan about being too flat chested).

I also used sports bras for most of my first pg but like you say, there's only so much you can wear them with, even if they are super comfy.

I've tried underwired bras from places like bravissimo but for me they just don't work - I get little spots beneath the under-wiring and I find them impossibly uncomfortable to wear.

My solution has been Anita nursing bras - this is the one I use. I think it's fair to say that I am not a.... pert.... big chested person and I need proper support. These are SO comfortable, I just love them. I bought mine towards the end of my last pregnancy, wore them then and all the way through breastfeeding, then got them back out as soon as I fit into them again this time. As you may be able to tell, I love them.

The only thing to bear in mind, it tells you on figleaves but I don't think it mentions it on this site, is that cup sizing is weird - I have to order a 36G when I'm actually a 36F.

(could I say 'I love them' any more times in one post??! It's true though, I do....and it took me a long time to find them! Grin Blush )

Thanks so much lucksocks! I've placed my order already and will hopefully be feeling the love very soon Grin
