Hi I'm 21+4 and hardly feeling any movements now and again a little flutter/bubble feeling. At my 20week scan which was last tues he was lay across, on his belly and the placenta is right lateral would this affect baby movements. I have a fetal Doppler and can hear his heartbeat so do you think I should ring up hospital as I really don't want 2 waste their time?
This is my 3rd pregnancy and with my dd1&2 I felt them move from 18weeks.

TIA

Have you tried having either a very cold/ very hot or very sugary drink and waiting half an hour? That's what the mw suggested at classes before calling the hospital.

Hiya, I felt DD1 and DD2 at around 14 weeks, I am now 20 weeks pg with DC3 and feel very little movement. I have had a couple of scans (for other reasons), and so I know baby is fine in there.

The position of your placenta may be cushioning baby's kicks, so you might not feel them till later on.

Hot/cold drinks haven't worked with me either, I don't think it's anything to worry about at this stage, some people don't feel kicks till after 22 weeks.

I was a bit worried myself up to 21-22 weeks because I was only getting the occasional fluttering which sometimes could be felt from the outside but mostly couldn't. I didn't get the not strong, definate movements that I imagined a baby would feel like until the last week or so (23 weeks today).

I wasn't told at my 20 week scan that the placenta or baby were in any position that would make it difficult to feel movements, so I assume that maybe the baby was kicking internally, or my ample belly was muffling the movements until baby got strong enough to make herself/himself felt. Of maybe baby is just a quiet soul like his/her dad and me. Who knows?

Of course, if you are concerned then speak to your midwife. Being able to pick up the heartbeat is a good sign though. Hope all is well :)

Do you feel movements via the doppler? (Banging type noises)
