hCG hormone levels in early pregnancy

I'm wondering if anyone has been through anything similar?

I started bleeding/spotting at 5+3 (20/3/12) and was sent to the EPU. Scan showed nothing. hCG level was 1524. I've had bloods taken every 2 days, so 24/3 = 2508, 26/3 = 3910, 28/3 = 5445. Scan 6+2 (26/3) showed a gestational sac with yolk measuring 6mm. I'm still having some spotting. No aches or pains.

The EPU Dr has just suggested that I might start cramping and bleeding/miscarrying soon as they don't think my hormone levels are going up sufficiently.

I am devastated as I really thought that 'we' might have survived this one. It's like living with a time bomb inside me. I'm desperate to know if anyone else might have any experience of hormone levels they can pass on to me, please?

I do :) My Hch levels started off so low that when I went to the clinic - the dr told me I wasn't pregnant as my urine test didn't show up. My first HCG was 58, 2 days later it was 85 - 2 days later it was 154( all this around the 5 week mark). I was thinking this was another mc ( I have had 3 before) - but it turns out some babies are just 'slow burners'. I am now 20 weeks and all ok so far :)

There is a myth that HCG had to double every 48 hours. It doesen't. A raise of 66% is sufficient. I used the hcg calculator here

There is also a lady on my conception thread who had low hcg and she is now 13 weeks. - Please keep the faith until proven otherwise xx

thank you for your message, Batteryhen. It would seem that the EPU dr was correct. I started bleeding more heavily again this morning, have backache etc. I guess this one just wasn't meant to be.

I wish you all the best with your pregnancy. I am extraordinarily lucky to have had 3 issue-free pregnancies in the past resulting in 3 fabulous boys. Perhaps that's my lot.
