Any recommendations for a double buggy?

I am currently pregnant with dc2. There will be a 2 year gap when little one comes along. I know I'll need a double but have no idea which one?!?! Like the baby jogger city select but it's £££ & quite big. Not sure about Phil & teds - not sure I like the idea of baby underneath staring at nothing.....I am considering keeping my chameleon too for days when dc1 at nursery..... Any suggestions for a double? Ideas? Help!

Thank you in advance!

Hi the phil and teds is not so bad but I will share my story. My dd was 2y 3m when ds was born and has never sat a day in the p&t. My biggest regret is selling my pram to buy the p&t. I would have been better off with a buggy board and a baby carrier. Not sure how much walking you'll be doing and how good a walker your dc1 is but it is just another thing to consider. Good luck.

The baby won't be staring at nothing, it'll be looking up at you asleep most of the time :)

We live in London so walk a lot! I was hoping buggy board and sling but dc1 was heavy, quickly so I think I'd need to save my back! Anyone else got any experience of p&t. I want to like it. It makes so much sense. Thank you both for replying.

I'm in the same situation. I've gone for the baby jogger city mini double, which is a side by side but pretty compact. I've also kept my bee because DD will probably decide she doesn't want to sit in the pushchair after all....

And for days out with DH when I'd rather take two separate buggies (we have a cheapy maclaren too)

get a proper sling/carrier that doesn't wreck your back. like the ergo that holds the weight on the hips.
do you take public transport a lot? most pushchairs larger than a buggy can be problematic on the bus and many tube stations only have stairs...
