I'm very early on and my toddler is a lil boisterous thing. and I've spend most of my day like a goal keeper and I'm worried everytime he bounces or nearly bounces on my stomach some harm has been done.

I'm always being told early one yur tummy is most vulnerable so i'm really worried.

AIBU to worry about being pg near a bouncy toddler??

I don't think you have to worry too much if you're very early on - the baby has lots of room at the moment and is pretty well-protected well down in your pelvis. But it's never too early to start explaining that we need to take extra care of Mummy's tummy for a while! Do you have one of those little indoor trampolines? They can be quite handy for heading off a fit of the bounces!

You need to chill out a bit as you will be a nervous wreck by the time the baby is born.
Also tell your toddler a firm NO each time he tries to use you as a bouncy castle or as I say 'a glorified climbing frame'

It'll only get worse as your tummy gets bigger! I'm currently 38 weeks with a 22 month old. Best thing to do is be firm and explain there's a 'baby in mummy's tummy so you have to be nice' followed by lots of tummy cuddles and rubbing! Although still young to understand fully, if you are consistent they will get the idea. just like 'mummy can't carry/lift you' will need to b explained early on Smile

I read this as you being pregnant with a toddler. Which says a lot about the amount I have been drinking how tired I am.

I'm still carrying ,mine and hes over 3 stone :S a bit worried how i'll cope when I cant :(.

hes not been too bad today had a nasty bout of MS/Fatigue and he tries to snuggle in bless him. and didnt try and climb.

I often say av loud 'Be Careful' when he gets giddy.

my dd is 2 and shes a bit of a tom boy I get climed on and bounced on if ot gets too rough I ask her to be carefull as she may hurt the baby in mummys tummy she has found it easier to understand as iv got bigger im 38+1 but in the early days I tried not to panic too much as they are pretty well protected in there

Hoebag · 25/03/2012 14:46

I carried mine all the way through. Ended up sitting them on top of the bump to save my arms:o

Happenstance · 25/03/2012 16:04

i'm still carrying DD at 39 weeks, just being a bit more careful

funthatisfunny · 25/03/2012 16:45

My DS is like this and I have just started saying to be careful of mummy's tummy. Until I am showing i can't really explain why because he will tell everyone and i am only 6 weeks!

Just tell them not to jump on you, or move?
