Hi all,

I have an ELCS booked for 12 days time for my twins (one cephalic, one breech, I had a third degree tear 18 motnhs ago with DD so have opted ELCS).

Yoga trousers/ fold down trousers have been recommended many times by people, but where do I get some without costing the earth (seen some lovely ones, but £45!! plus £4.50 p+p, no free returns), and anyone who's done it, what size did you get?! Obviously I'm vast having two in there, but need these til I can wear things that sit on the scar.

Or anything better? over-the-bump leggings okay?

Advice anyone?!

The first few days I just lived in my PJs! Afterwards though I found over the bump leggings fine, and also my maternity jeans and trousers. For me, the scar was very tender but was long as the waistband wasn't directly on the scar (as most normal jeans and trousers would be) then it was fine. I did have some yoga-style trousers I lived in during my pregnancy too but I found them in the PJ section of Tescos - I think that kind of thing also gets called 'lounge wear' and a lot of the cheaper shops have them in.

Good luck with your twins!

They're 9.99 for two pairs in Costco if you have that. Or similar in Matalan & Asda. I wore them with wrapover top from m&s for bf for weeks after my elcs.

thanks! Sounds like a vast improvement on £45. Will get myself to matalan and asda. No costco here, or tesco (well, not a big one with clothes- got an 'express')

Ooh, yes, Matalan - I have to admit I found their nighties really comfortable in the first few weeks, they do some jersey dresses that are nice and loose and tend to button down the front for BF too. And of course you can get distracted in the baby section too Grin

I got some comfy tracksuit bottoms from peacocks with over the bump band for about 8 quid Smile

The scar is really low, mine is actually under my pubes, so waistbands shouldn't irritate it. You will be fine with anything "over-the-bump". Or pop to Primark for some cheapo joggers.

You're all marvellous, and will have saved me ££££. Thanks!

but why oh why are there no useful shops near me- no peacocks, no primark...

Hi Dream!!

Just thought I'd mention that Sainsburys have some yoga / soft / stretchy trousers for £10. I "splurged" and went for the even softer £12 version! As you know I haven't had a chance to try them out post section of course, but they're very soft and you can roll them down so low that they sit under the bikini line (I'd only do that around the house of course!) or you can roll them right up over the bump. Fingers crossed you have a big Sainsburys nearby?

I lived in my leggings & huge t-shirts for weeks after my EMCS.

The Sainsbury's £12 ones are amazing, quite generous in sizing so I think buying your usual size should be fine. They are quite long in the leg, I'm 5'11 and it was great to not have 'ankle flappers'. Probably not so great if you're petite, though

I got some lovely loose, high waisted yoga pant style trosers from Sainsbury. Only £9.
