Hi 1st tri, 2nd baby.

Personally disappointed my H&M ones (stitching on straps came undone on at least three) and I can't Justiy Isabella Oliver this time... I had one o their vest tops last time it was fantastic quality and flattering but soooooooo expensive

Anything else clothes wise you would recommend I'd also appreciate hearing.

Gap Maternity. I have been surprisingly pleased with them (having also bought from Seraphine, Boden, JoJo and Mothercare - not lots but a couple of things from each). Gap have really nice tank tops and long sleeved t-shirts that are washing well and, although quite thin, are warm and good for layering. They are not as cheap as somewhere like H&M but keep a nice shape (yes, thanks mothercare for making me look like I am dressed in a flour sack) and are in bright colours.

FWIW I have been surprised to find their trousers are very good for work etc. My only gripe with gap so far is a jumper that bobbled all over the bump after wearing once!

Hope that helps.

I bought cheap maternity vest tops from matalan and I bloody love them. They've been worn from 5 months pregnant to now (3 months post baby) and have fit me perfectly from bump to MASSIVE bump, through labour and back to my usual size 12. Without the bump the are long enough to cover my enormous arse.

They're also coming into their own with breastfeeding as they're stretchy enough to hoick down under a boob at a moment's notice.

I buy isabella Oliver on eBay. It is such good quality that it doesn't shrink, fade or stretch out of shape, so second hand is good - and normally preg clothes are only worn for a few months so good quality ones don't get worn out too quick.

I treated myself to a wrap top from JoJo this weekend and love it! It's a lovely material and sits just right. Really makes me feel semi attractive with my big belly! Had lots of compliments when I wore it too. Was pricier than Is normally pay for a top though.

I've just bought a three pack from next, tunic length and very stretchy and comfy, more an id normally spend but quite impressed

Sign up to the Isabella Oliver mailing list - occasionally there are flash sales and discounts to be had.

I sold all my Isabella Oliver on eBay last month for more than I paid for it Grin

Debenhams redherring range are proudly sponsoring my bump this time. Reasonably priced, wear & wash well.

blushingmare · 21/03/2012 22:21

Oh, also I picked up 4 great tops - 2 shirts, a jumper and a stretchy top in a Fara Kids charity shop last week for under £20 Grin

pootlebug · 21/03/2012 23:07

They're not very exciting on their own, but for layering Primark's normal £2 vest tops are long enough and stretchy enough that they work for me at 41 weeks still.

readyforno2 · 21/03/2012 23:25

I second the matalan vest tops 2 for £12, I got two packs. Really comfy and long so the cover everything. Ruffled a bit at the sides so they sit nicely too

sedgieloo · 27/03/2012 11:40

Thanks everyone, I totally forgot about matalan. I've scored some Isabella Oliver on ebay this weekend, their stuff works well for me as I'm tall and they seem to have the length there. I'm DYING for them to do one of these flash sales, I'm all signed up and ready thanks nancer!

I had a couple of really nice tops from ASOS last time round although I haven't tried their vests.

BranchingOut · 28/03/2012 09:01

I liked Gap for plain maternity teeshirts, plus a couple from M&S.
Bought several ruched side tops from various places. However, I found it was taking ages to build up enough to wear, so in the end I bought a maternity bundle from eBay. I looked out for something in my size and colours, plus the right season. Got a huge package of stuff for £75, charity shopped some of it, but ended up with about seven or eight items that were brilliant and quite a few 'fillers'. I was so pleased with it that I emailed the seller again at the end of my pregnancy to let her know how fab it had been.

Blossom mOther and child have a sale on at the moment - good quality tops for 15 - 25z
