Obaby Zezu twin, has anyone got one? Or do I need to save for a bugaboo donkey?!

Have posted in products but there's more traffic here!

Ds will be 18m when number 2 arrives. Saw an obaby Zezu in kiddy care today, and then saw the bugaboo donkey!!! Realistically the obaby is in our price range, 1/3 of the cost if the dOnkey and seems to have the features we want (split seats/pram top/forward and rear facing/car seat attachment)

Does anyone have one? What are your thoughts? Initially went to look at the bj sidewalk but felt the chair backs were too flimsy and not very supportive. So what do I choose? Help!!!

I have a baby jogger city select, after much research i decided it was the best on the market, big seats, 16 different seat combinations and lovely to push :)

I've got the Donkey - love it, we're 8 months in now and its fab. Its also very robust and I'm pretty sure we'll be ableto sell it on for a good price. I would say though that the chassis is BIG. We had to get a new car.

I loved the look of the donkey but it didn't fold small enough for my galaxy !! and the seats were narrower than the baby city jogger select, and side by side doubles are so impractical at times, been there and done that with dd and ds1 !

I have the first wheels city twin (side by side) and a britax b-dual (I know, I may have a pram addiction Blush)

The first wheels is fabulous for my twins - carrycots were lovely and sturdy, seats parent face/forward face/one each way, hoods are big, looks great and pushes like a dream Grin It is big though - we got a new car.

The b dual is also lovely, but you have to choose who goes in the underneath seat (which is definitely less popular than the top seat), and you can't really have the top seat parent facing when the bottom seat is a seat (rather than carry cot or car seat). It is also big when folded - the back wheels are widely spaced and remain so when folded. Because if the shape when folded, it takes as much boot space as the firstwheels, but is much harder to store neatly in the hall. That said, it folds with the seats on.

I don't think there is a buggy that is perfect for every situation. That's why I have lots of buggies!

i went through three prams for my first eventually settled on a my4. now were planning number 2 i can revive my pram obsessions. it so bad i can tell you wich buggy is which from a metre away and get it right Blush

Have a look at www.bestbuggy.co.uk/ as they have a comparison tool so you can look at two prams side by side and see the differences. They also have lots of reviews of different prams so you can check out what's good about the various doubles on the market.

I have had a lot of doubles (currently cooking DC4) and I really like the B-Dual - you can have the toddler facing you in the top seat and the baby in the lower seat in a soft carry cot/cocoon and I had the 2007 version of the First Wheels City Twin - which I loved at the time but looking back it had lost of quirks (bumper bars impossible to remove easily, hoods that didn't quite stretch tight so were a bit baggy, pretty wide at 78cm but not terrible, baskets were difficult to get shopping into, smaller seats) but it did do well as a supermarket/day out pram.

I would avoid the Urban Detour doubles as they are about 4 miles wide (actually 86cm Shock) and just not great quality.

I have an Easylife Sport Twin which is great if you have big/tall children and go off roading a lot. Mine is 10y old and 3rd hand yet is great for going shopping as you can fit a weeks shop in the baskets and on the handle bar/hoods. Not pretty though!

The Baby Jogger City Mini twin is good too, slim and so easy to fold down/store but the seat height isn't matched by a good sized leg/foot rest. The GT version being released soon will address that though.

Dh has vetoed a "stacking" double which is why we're needing a side by side. But I really want one that can be parent facing and have a pram top or car seat whilst keeping ds occupied nosing what's going on!!!

The hunt continues ...

the city select doesn't actually 'stack' there's loads of room between seats, and i love they can face each other :)

Pootle78 · 17/03/2012 22:29

We've looked at that but don't like the pram top configurations. If on top looks like no second seat and if on the bottom, looks to be facing out which looks dangerous/unsafe to us.

I think we need to see it in the "flesh" rather than just looking on t'internet!
