Feeling deflated

im currently 38+4 with dc2. I was 13 days over when I went into labour with dd, so I was preparing mysel for that. Also as I had an emcs with her I'm being monitored & have an elective at 41 weeks if no baby; I'd rather avoid this but I know it's for the best.

Thing is, I had a show on Monday evening, not much, but a show. The MW said head engaged & ready on Tuesday (neither of thwart Inge happened with dd).

Then, on Thursday morning I woke at 4 am with bad cramps lower back pain & by 5 am was having strongish contractions for 40 seconds every 5 mins or so, this lasted for about an hour and a half before tailing off. Throughout the day I had the occasional contraction, maybe one an hour on average & felt quite nauseous.

Went to bed last night & nothing has happened since :(

I know it's a wee bit early, but I really got my hopes up now I just feel so flat. I'm knackered & the presence of a toddler doesn't help. I've been trying to stay active, but I just want to creep into bed. DH took today off to take dd out, they'll be home soon, he's being lovely, but I know he's anxious too.

Just wanted to vent really. Sorry guys ...

oh poor you!!!!
the only thing that may help is I hear on off labour before the real thing usually means your bodies doing alot of work before the big day so that real labour should then be more efficient!!!???
chin up!
pregnancy is very hard work with a toddler!!xx

Just wanted to say I am in a similar position after a show and then nothing except niggly period pains..... and I take my hat off to you as I think I'd be a sobbing mess on the floor if I had a toddler to look after too!

I hope you manage to get some rest today while your DH and DD are out, and that you start to feel more positive soon. In fact, sod that- lets get to the crux of the matter, I hope your baby comes soon!

Ps I have booked a hairdressers appointment for weds.... its sods law baby will come before then for me so I am stuck with mega roots for months instead. Perhaps you need to book in a treat for yourself to tempt fate also?!

Thanks guys & good luck sillymilly! I had a hair appointment yesterday, so the upside is I currently have fab hair! I also have a pre natal pedicure thingy booked for next Thursday. Just don't know how my mental state will cope until then!

Fingers crossed for us.

Oh no poor you :( I'm 38+4 too but haven't had ANYTHING to suggest something is going to happen soon. Was actually just going to start a 'who's near the end and fed up?' thread but saw this one. Also got a toddler but I was induced at 39+2 with him so i've no idea what to expect this time round.

We've got a busy weekend planned so hoping she'll decide to be awkward and make an appearance.

Sausage - we'll get there! DH came back with a massive bag of goodies from lush & some crisps :o He also put dd down for her nap & has been dealing with her ridiculous tantrums in a lovely calm way rather than my shouty mummy way.

I'm sorry to hear that you're fed up too, but relieved it's not just me IYSWIM. I just can't wait to get his alien out of me!

I did get some rest & made a cheaty processed dinner. I may even have a -humoungus- small glas of wine tonight. I reckon it'd be sod's law that I'd end up in labour ward tipsy!

Here's something for your fed up thread, we went out for a bit when dd woke from her nap. A lovely family outing to, SAINSBURY! well, we didn't want to go too far & it is a big one with clothes (that don't fit me) & a homeware section (that I don't need anything from). I ran into my old boss who always makes me laugh, & he reminded me of how awful work was, so that helped :)

But to reference another thread, 'you know you're pregnant when...going to Sainsbury mooching is an acceptable family outing!
