Bleeding at 11/12 weeks - can anyone reassure me?

I am 12 weeks (based on lmp) but could be as little as 11.

On sunday, then yesterday I had some mucous, streaked with blood, when wiping. It was only a slight trace of blood so I wasn't too worried.

This evening I started bleeding a lot. Bright red, soaked through underwear and jeans before I got to a loo....sorry if tmi.

Phoned local midwife led unit straight away, went up and midwife listened with doppler, twice about half an hour apart, but couldn't hear a heartbeat. She was upbeat about the chances though.

Home now, lying down, still no pains, still some blood flow - I would say about like a medium flow of a period.

Midwife has faxed main hosp with urgent scan request. They will phone tomorrow.

I know it's impossible to say, but Wdyt? Anyone any idea of the stats of how many pgs with 12 week bleeding end in m/c? If you've experienced the same, what do you think?

Thanks. Btw - is 3rd pg, not bled at all during previous pgs

Gosh mummeeee I am so sorry, I have asked mumsnet to remove my post as I have just been typing mine while you have updated x

I'm really sorry. I wish it had been good news. Be gentle with yourself. It's good that you have 2 weeks off work - try to rest. x

tigger32 · 16/03/2012 14:31

Just read back through your thread, so very sorry to hear your news. Please take care of yourself now.

curiousgeorgie · 16/03/2012 14:42

So sorry it wasn't good news :(

What an awful thing to happen... rest up, cuddle your DC's and try (if possible) to find ways to feel better xxx

randomimposter · 16/03/2012 14:46

mummeee I am so sorry to hear your news. I had exactly the same mmc experience as you just before christmas, with bleeding starting the day before my NT scan. I was so pleased to get a scan on EPU rather than wait for the NT scan and find out then. Just to warn you that you can bleed a lot and still find that something remains. I had this and ended up with an ERPC, which really was fine and far less painful than the natural part of the process. Pain free in fact.

mummeeee · 16/03/2012 15:38

Thank you all and please don't worry about the cross posts mrswoz, completely understand.

Am feeling very thankful for my two lovely dcs and giving them extra special cuddles.

Not looking forward to the painful passing of everything, but stocked up on painkillers on the way home as the nurse advised. Still can't get used to the idea that I can take pills now I'm not pregnant, as it were, so I imagine everything is going to take a while to sink in.

So sorry mummee.

No words ever made me feel any better, but I promise you that although you will never forget your day, or this baby, I promise you will feel better over time.

Thinking of you xx

Mummeeee just to say I've done both ways, ERPC and Natural after MMCs. And whatever happens you will get through it. You've done childbirth, you can do anything. Hope you're tucking into vino, pate and forbidden cheese as soon as you feel upto it xx

babybunintheoven · 17/03/2012 07:01
