Precipitate labour and induction?

Does anyone know the 'rules' on requesting an induction at term with a history of very fast labours?

This is baby number 3.

Number 1 was born in 2 and a half hours from first contraction to delivery.
Number 2 was born in 27 minutes from first contraction to delivery.

The midwife at the time told me if I ever had any more should have a homebirth as I will not get to hospital on time.

Had a homebirth all planned and have now been told that I am high risk for a homebirth due to various complications.

I am TERRIFIED that I will have another fast labour and not get there in time meaning I will be delivering a 'high risk' baby alone.

I am considering asking to be induced on my due date to prevent this as that way I will already be in the right place but I knw in the UK they are a bit more strict on interventions.

Does anyone know if this is allowed?
Anyone been in the same situation?

Should have added in case its relevant.

Nearest hospital is a 20 minute drive away, i dont drive so will be relying on a lift from family and my second child had to be resusitated at birth due to how fast it was as he was distressed and has special needs as a result of the lack of oxygen.

Ask your MW, how far along are you? I think you have good grounds for induction btw!!

I'm 35 Weeks but want to be induced at term, so 40 Weeks if they will allow it. My previous children were late so don't expect to go any earlier, just so scared what will happen if I don't get to hospital on time.

I'm having nightmares about giving birth in a car and the baby dying as not breathing etc. can't cope with the worry.

The NICE guidelines seem to say no however so not holding out much hope :(

I think it depends on what makes you high risk and how high risk you are.

Worth talking to your MW though, and maybe a consultant appointment to discuss the plans for giving birth.

Ok you need to get moving on this then! Call your MW tomorrow and start proceeding with this. You will need to arrange with a Dr have you not seen a consultant due to your last birth?
