Hi all dc3 is due in august, when dc2 will be 21 months so I need a double buggy, I want one that isnt side by side and is pretty light as it will mainly be used by me for school runs, shop/park trips etc, Also one that my eldest can sit in the front as I dont think he will apprciate having nothing to look at!
Any advice appreciated :)

Hi there, this will be a short msg as keyboard wrecked (thanks kids!). But I can HIGHLY recommend the Jane Powertwin Pro.

It's a tandem, easily steered etc, brilliant for my newbie and toddler who was 19 months when she came along.

You can get them on ebay for about #180, as I did with two car seats that fit onto the front and the back seat. I found this incredibly useful (not for the toddler, obv) as getting her in and out of the car and straight onto the buggy was fab, and I was well used to being able to do that with the silver cross I had for the boy. Good luck!111111

Omg I have the best double pushchair ever it is side by side BUT fits through doors like a single!!

It is the lightest double buggy around

City jogger from mothercare it's fantastic!!!

I'm planning on getting the iCandy peach blossom. It's big bucks new but you can pick them up for about £500 on eBay then hopefully I'll be able to sell it again in a year or so.

Bugaboo donkey if you have ££££££ and your eldest isn't a chunky monkey like mine!Grin we ended up getting the phil n teds verve as it has larger seats, lightweight, folds compactly, but big bonus was that it converts nicely and easily into a single when eldest wants to run around and had enough of buggy. Best bet is to try before you buy if you can also. Smile

Virtually everyone I know has a Phil and Teds, I have loved mine (mostly) for 2 years. Would recommend.

Just ordered the phil and teds explorer with double kit plus extra double in orange if DD ruins one! Got a bargain at mothercare whole push chair plus 2 double kits adaptors etc for £408?!!! Think we got under charged but not complaining! Anyone had one are they good? Also got the cacoon on ebay for £15 brand new!!

Another vote for babyjogger city mini. Narrower than a standard door, takes a carseat or carrycot, folds flat.

DO NOT consider the iCandy pear. It's shit.

xkatyx · 14/03/2012 03:16

Yes iCandy double are awful I bought one after having a single candy and after spending £1000 I used it 3 times then sold it!!

Love the iCandy single though.

Re-post this in pushchairs, I had brilliant advice on their for my double.

puzzletree · 14/03/2012 11:53

Phil and teds, was brilliant for my two with the same age gap, used it pretty much every day for about 2 years (is good as a single too). Buy/borrow a cocoon for the baby, they're great.
