Starving at night

Anyone else in their first trimester & waking up ragingly hungry in the middle of the night? Without fail every morning between 2-3. It's doing my head in! I've been having a light snack before going to bed, but doesn't seem to be doing much!

I'm 39 weeks and have had this throughout the whole of my pregnancy. I have a big bowl of meusli before bed and then if I still wake up I just get up and have some toast or cereal. I know some people who kept biscuits or cereal bars by the bed for night time snacks but I would just end up with tons of crumbs in the bed if I did that, might be worth it though if you are a tidier eater then me :)

Yes me too, and if I don't eat I feel nauseas! I try and eat something like fruit in the night, as it seems to do the trick and not be too heavy (so it won't keep me awake - I'm also suffering with indigestion big time)

I am ok if I remember my cereal and bannana right before bed. Try just having a bigger snack before you go to bed.

Thanks ladies, I'll give those suggestions a go, although I think keeping biscuits by my bed would be just a slippery slope! Having said that, mmm custard creams...

I had a mug of warm milk each time I got up. DH could tell how many times I'd been up from how many mugs were on the benchtop. ;)

ooh, I had this last night, wide awake at like 4am with the moon shining in the window and wanted to raid the fridge! I'll try some of the healthy suggestions! I am going to try banana and yogurt if it doesn't make me feel sick before bed...

Def keep something by the bed. Grapes would be good, easy to digest. You're not getting hungry for nothing, you need to eat!

I was the same from BFP till 8 weeks, then nausea struck. A friend of mine had a midnight snack every night until she gave birth (and she is not the size of a house!)

Iv started to get this at 32 weeks. I now keep a big mug of milk an a banana by my bed - easy to fill u up until breakfast an saves u wakin up properly to go to the kitchen - I now eat with my eyes still closed at 4am Grin

I'm getting that and if i try and ignore it i can't sleep, and then i feel really nauseous, i'm having cereal bars or yogurt as its all i can stomach at that time of night.

I had this for the first few months. I started bringing bananas to bed each night to save me the trek downstairs.

justhaley lol I laughed at your post, I can actually imagine being asleep and laying there eating a banana lol. Made me chuckle, I am getting hungry at night to though, 33+2, I don't satisfy my needs though and just pig out when I wake up. As if I eat or drink anything then I get really bad indigestion :(

I found milk and/or cheese right before bed really helped. Am 39w now and still getting through a pint of milk before bed each night.
