Any point in booking in with midwife?

I'm in a bit of an odd situation - assuming all goes well this will be my third child; currently 11.5 weeks. I've already been seen by the consultant, who has booked my NT scan, 20 week scan and GTT and scheduled extra growth scans. They took first tri bloods and will take more when I have the NT.
Having had all this done - and having had all my paperwork filled in by the hospital midwife, including the stuff about family history, sickle cell anaemia etc - is there actually any point in booking in with my midwife during the first trimester? Antenatal clinic is one morning per week, is booked up weeks in advance and usually runs about 2 to 3 hours late (if you get an appointment first thing it's only about 45 mins but still .... !) and I have become really, really fed up of waiting so long to have my wee tested, bp measured and doppler waved over my stomach. All of these things can be done by my GP at a more convenient time and with less of a wait.
Given all this - should I be in any hurry to book? Or is there something that the community midwives do that I've forgotten?
I eventually want a homebirth (well, given that last labour was under 90 mins long I think I'll end up with a homebirth regardless!) so I understand I've got to see her about that, and that I will be told that I probably shouldn't have one. But that's a conversation that can wait, right?

I probably wouldn't bother. I may call them to arrange the next visit and explain the situation but I have 2 myself and having to sort them out so I could go to the doc app for what would essentially be a pretty pointless visit I wouldn't bother.
Have a safe and happy pregnancy

Thank you! I feel less like I'm playing truant to hear that somebody else might meet similar conclusions. x

Will your GP do regular bump measurements/blood pressure/urine tests for you? Because if not then a problem might be missed until things get too late.

My GP practice wouldn't see you for things like that, they make you book in with the midwife, or will accuse you of wasting time. If you waste 3 apptms, they de-register you!

Be careful, you really don't want to be without a GP at this time...

Best of luck, Congrats x

I'd better admit at this point that I'm married to a GP Grin. So if he accuses me of wasting his time I won't be best pleased. But yes, the GPs at my practice have been happy to do these things for me in the past - I suspect it really varies by practice, although I will check with the receptionist in case the policy has changed, so thank you for your comments.
I will be seeing my midwife later on in the pregnancy, just might put it off for a few weeks.
