Hi all 37 weeks. Me and Dh had decided we weren't going to let anyone know initially when I went into labour. If things get complicated I may call my mum. Mil has decided she wants to know straightaway. However I don't want Dh disappearing or on phone constantly as she will be checking for updates. Same as sil both demanding. What did you do?

I only told dh, couldn't be bothered with the hassle and constant texts if others knew.

DH and my doula, and then the phone call to the midwives.

Parents and ILs got a call once DS arrived at 1am.

And then bloody ILs woke us all up at 8am phoning to confirm all the details FFS

No-one, I didn't want dh to be distracted. And I'm really glad because in the event I needed his lap to put my head on while I had contractions leaning over a birthing ball, while an amazingly patient student midwife (who looked about 15!) rubbed my lower back.

I could've gone on like that for ages, but needed a drip + epidural as I just wasn't dilating naturally.

You did want the full birth story, right?!
