Just wondering if anyone has experienced same, I woke up throughout the night with really bad stitch pain on left side, just above my hip, I can't lay on that side, or even touch the area it hurts. Or its intensifies a great deal. Oh I'm 32+4...any ideas? I'm currently still laid in bed and still have it, been waking me up through out the night. Going to get up an hope it improves!

It could be a kidney stone. I had an awful pain like that a few weeks ago and I went to the doctors for it and that was her conclusion.... Although it could be something pregnancy related. Maybe ring NHS Direct? They're generally quite good over the phone. Hope it gets better, if it is a kidney stone the pain tends to stop for a while then sometimes comes back. Or sometimes not at all xx

Thankyou for replying, that side of my bump feels strange shape and rock solid. But that could be me from tensing it up because the pain is so bad, its can be ok one minute and then be agony, it not where my kidney is though

Mine wasnt where my kidney was either it was all down my left side- for a while i thought it was my back playing up but it was definately a kidney stone. Hope you feel better soon :( x

Thankyou, its not really painful in my back. Although I was having excruciating back pain yesterday but that's been quite a normal thing through pregnancy for me, but was worse last night. It is all down my left side.

I had this a few weeks ago, came to the conclusion that baby had somehow trapped a nerve.

Would suggest applying heat/cold to try and get baby to move, or anything else that you personally can usually do to move baby, ice cold/fizzy drink etc.

You have my sympathy as it really was agony - was this not my second, i'd have been off to hospital convinced it must be labour!
