God, I hate being pregnant.

32.5 weeks, measuring 36, huge and uncomfortable.

Can barely fit behind the steering wheel, can't reverse because I can't turn round, can't lean forwards to look round corners.

Can't stand up for more than five minutes, really useful when you are a teacher and still working.

Bump has dropped and now rests on lap, so can't use laptop as a damn laptop - again, useful for work.

Being driven INSANE by restless leg syndrome every evening (when I am trying to mark books)

Sweating like a pig.

Haven't slept for more than a two hour stretch for months.

Nosebleeds every morning.

Can't walk into a room without my friends, family and colleagues laughing out loud at the sight of me.

Angry anyone want to join my snarling thread?

dear god woman i am a teacher too. what are you still doing working at 32 weeks :) i dropped off at 27. i was getting so much pain from the stress of the job, which all vanished after i went on maternity. teaching is way way stressful and you should be no where near it at this stage. (not to mention the ungrateful, ratbag students :)

I am supposed to be working up to 35+4. I have no idea what I was thinking of!

It's a 'high risk' pregnancy as well as I am diabetic, although to be honest that part is causing me the least problems right now.

I think, having stopped at 30 weeks with DS, I was thinking I would try to get as much time afterwards as I could? I dunno...

bring it your leave forward, best decision i ever made. now i spend my days eating tea cakes and drinking tea. just the way nature intended

Mikocat · 02/03/2012 19:41

Oh I'll join you for a good snarl.

I'm currently 31+5, having a MISERABLE time with SPD, not to mention the odd bout of heartburn/nausea.

Sleeping is crap, baby doesn't like me laying on my right side, so am limited to left side only right now.

Horribly constipated as a result of all the codeine I'm taking.

kickingking · 02/03/2012 19:44

Sad constipation sucks.

Supposed to give 28 days notice to bring my leave forward so not really an option now.

I'm in. Am 27ish weeks, and a teacher too.

But- STOP PRESS- I took my first dose of magnesium today on the recommendation of a friend and the restless leg thing has dramatically improved, if not stopped. I am usually crippled by 5pm- as yet, nothing apart from the odd twitch. I will report back.

Oh, and thanks to the FOUR WEEKS (+2 weeks 90% +12 weeks 50%) full pay, I have to work up until the last minute. But I am an advisory teacher, so am cheating really.

I want gin.

tethersend · 02/03/2012 19:52

Go off sick, don't bring your leave forward. They can't make you start your leave until 36 weeks.

kickingking · 02/03/2012 19:54

Seriously, can you be signed off for having a very big bump and being fed up? Medically, everything is fine.

What is this magnesium you speak of? Do I have to get it prescribed?

No, just get it from the chemist; I got mine from Sainsburys. Here

tethersend · 02/03/2012 19:59

You can be signed off for exhaustion/stress.

phunkiephedora · 02/03/2012 20:45

I am on a mix of Magnesium, Bananas and Ginger tea ... suffered horribly with restless legs with the twins and cried when it started in this pregnancy. Now 25 weeks and no pains since week 12 :-) Can't tell which one works but I'm not stopping any of them!
On leaving work early, it sounds like you have a very good case for exhaustion/stress as theresend says. Go and have a chat to your GP, for you and your baby's sake xx
