Any tips for getting some kicks...?!

I am 24 weeks but due to having an anterior placenta I am only feeling a minimum amount of kicking and movement.
While this is fine for me, every time DH puts his hand on there after I have felt some movement the baby seems to go completely still (I realise this is probably not really the case, but thats what it feels like!)
Jiggling about doesn't seem to provoke any more movement so I was wondering if anyone had any tips that have worked for them...? Our baby has managed to kick the dog, both the cats and my friend but not my DH!

I used to drink a glass of cold orange juice and lay on my side. Within a few minutes I used to feel a few strong movements. Not kicks per say but movement all the same.

Iced water and lie on left side. I used to get some results after eating chocolate too. Grin

Ummmm handful of sweets, jelly tots or haribo and as cold a glass of water as you can. You should feel movement pretty quickly. This has been reliable since about 19 weeks. Good luck.

Will get glugging now - wish me luck! Smile

I read left hand side too. They also said that's optimum side to sleep. Afraid I dont know the science behind it though!

Ice lollies used to get DD1 moving!

My DH did point out that torturing the baby with cold water and a sugar high, to make it do something, after bubba arrived was probably child abuse!

My little girl is exactly the same every time my bf puts his hand on my belly she stops lol he's seen my tummy move when she's given me a good kick though!

The left side has got something to do with maximum blood flow to the area i think, right is good aswell but lying on your back with a bump does something to one of your main veins and can make you feel dizzy - don't quote me on that exactly but i think that's the gist of it!

Yes, sorry I didn't know/remember the science bit (it was ten years ago) but the left- that's definitely what the midwife said. Grin
