Sorry to be a wingebag but i feel so rotten all the time, i just want people to tell me there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I am 6 weeks and feel sick the whole time. I have tried any and every home remedy to no avail.
The sore boobs i can live with.
the tiredness is getting me down, by nine o'clock i cannot keep my eyes open but when i sleep i have horrible dreams, and wake up several times during the night. So in the morning i'm not rested at all. Also people keep telling me i look terrible (the word "green" and "wrecked" make frequent appearances), doesn't help.
This ends soon and i am transformed in a happy, glowing mother to be, ready to tackle the world, right?
any words of encouragement and advice greatly appreciated, because annoyingly everyone i know either didn't get morning sickness or "only for one morning then i was fine". Envy

Sorry you are having such a hard time of it! I didn't have the sickness but I did have the tiredness for a while. I think you just have to give in to it, even if it means you go to bed at 8 o clock.

If you like, I'll tell you that soon you'll reach the second trimester and you will be glowing and radiant with a spring in your step and bags of energy. That's what it says in all the books isn't it? (didn't work like that for me but I was better in the first trimester. SPD started once I got to 4 months)

I can't say that I've made it to "glowing mother to be" stage but I've made it out the big horrible pukey tunnel of exhaustion. It's only a matter of time before you escape too! Both times I've been about 16 weeks before I felt normal again but it peaked at 10 weeks and began to slowly improve after that.

Beige food was the only thing that remotely helped me. Tuc crackers being a particular favourite. That and a lovely DH that gave me long lies at the weekend and afternoon naps whilst he entertained our toddler.

Sending lots of get well soon vibes!

yes, beige food is a good tip. I have all sorts of food aversions in the evening mostly, but macaroni cheese always goes down fine.

I'm sorry you're having a rotten time. I can't promise you glowing but I could have written your post at 6 weeks til about 14. Then one day I just woke up feeling well. It will pass and at 22 weeks with all tests and scans clear and behind us, it's so worth it.

blondiep14 · 27/02/2012 11:12

I know how you feel, and I'm hoping we both feel much better soon!
Have been feeling violently sick (and thrown up quite a lot too!) Since about 6 or 7 weeks, am 10 weeks now and not much better but I'm getting used to it.
Hopefully in a few weeks it'll be a distant memory!

I started feeling sick and tired at about 6 weeks (cue getting the pg test out) and I felt absolutely rubbish until approx 12-14 weeks (never been good at counting the weeks tbh) and then I literally had a spring in my step when I took the dog for a walk. I ran a little bit, jumped around, waited for the pukey feeling and it didn't come. I felt absolutely normal again until about 30 weeks and then the aches and pains came, the indigestion and feeling breathless all the time... but that's another story :P

It does get better for most. Chin up!

ladygagoo · 27/02/2012 11:29

if it helps - I'm now 11weeks and feel soooo much better.
I felt shite dreadful at 6 weeks. Then DP kindly asked me if I was enjoying being pregnant arrrrgggh!
Everyone is different but it will get better. Eat whatever makes you feel better and don't worry about it.
