been reading on nhs website about dangers of going over 42 weeks due to still birth. does anyone know the actual figures on this? want to avoid induction as labour is more painful and higher risk of c section after hours of painful labour. would like to go natural route and deliever when baby wants to come out. any thoughts?

The stillbirth rate goes from 1 in 1000 at 41 weeks to 2 in 1000 post 42. It is worth noting that this is equivalent to the rate for babies born at 38 weeks.
If you are refusing induction, you can ask for expectant monitoring. This is where they do regular scans and checks to make sure the baby is still happy, and the placenta is still working, and leave you alone as long as there is no problem.
