Has anyone got one or used one? Are they any good? Where did you get yours from? Tia

i've bought the doppler bf500b for £120 and i'm only 5+6 so i'll have to wait a few more weeks before testing before i can give you my advice. i did a search engine for mine just typed in fhr dopplers with display screen. on some internet sites it gave the option of renting for £20+ per month and after 10 months you get to keep it. but i thought i'm going to be buying other things later on im pregnancy so i'll just buy it now.

highly advise it, but you must promise yourself not to get obsessive about it or you will worry yourself into oblivion.

Only allow youself a listen once a week maybe - any ant other time you have a worry that you haven't felt a movement for a while.

i have my own anyway because i am a midwife, but my best friend hired one from retail-therapy.com she got the more expensive one as it had the display of the fetal heart rate as well as just listening in. i compared it to mine and it seems quite good, she managaed to ding the heartbeat at quite an early stage (approx 11 weeks) and she used it to reassure herself and also for her other children to listen into the baby to make it more real for them.
i think it is about £26 permonth to hire and if you hire for five months you get to keep it, they take the money from your credit or debit card each month. my friend had every intention of sending hers back, but needless to say once the baby had arrived she completley forgot to send it back and so has kept it, ready for her next pg!

hi
i had onew with my dds pregnancy as had 3 mcs prior to it and also s but had bleeding a lot early on. It was the best thing I bought and if i got pregnant again would get another. was able to find heartbeat from around 11wks and it was soo reasuring but also lovely to listen to as a family. I got mine on ebay for around £90 and sold it on to DHW.

i bought one from ebay it was only £35 its called angel sounds but can't find any listed at the minute. mine does not have a display but works well and i heard the heart beat at 9.3 weeks!!! i listen every day, but you do have to be careful not to get too paniced if you can't find the heartbeat, especially early on as baby hides alot.
its great to hear the whooshing of the placenta and the bangs of your babys movement too
i would definatly recommend one

Highly recommend it although I agree with DHW that you need to try not to become obsessive about it. (Having one for this pregnancy has spared my sanity on the rare instance where the LO is not active.) I rented it through an online company (I live in Canada.) at about 11 weeks and I used it every-other day for a few weeks and then once a week as soon as I could feel movement. I now have a listen every so often.
