Where to buy a bedside cot?!

I'm starting to tear my hair out...help!

I thought I'd got all the big things I needed to buy for the baby sorted - I'd ordered a bedside cot from Mothercare and was awaiting delivery over half term. I've received an answerphone message from them today saying that my order has been cancelled as the manufacturer has stopped making them. Angry

So this evening I've tried to find a replacement...but to no avail! I found a Troll Bedside Cot which looks good, but can find no stockists that have actually have it in stock. No companies seem to make them anymore - every time I find one that looks great (like the Cosatto Olivia), I discover it's out of stock!

I'm nearly 30 weeks now, so I've still got a bit of time - especially as little one is going to be in a moses basket for the first few weeks/months. I'd just like to know that everything is sorted.

Has anybody got any secret bedside cot sources?! I'm beginning to think that I'd be better off buying a cot bed, taking off one side and drilling holes in the legs to make it the right height for my mattress!

Thank you!

Thanks Trickle - unfortunately I think both of those are quite small - we're really hoping to find a bedside cot that is the same size as a normal cot. The smaller bedside cribs seem to be more popular now, there are hundreds of them!

just get a normal cot with a base that goes to different heights, make it with just three sides on and attach to the bed with thick string. Then later you can put the last side on and use it as a normal cot (or combed in our case)

We did this because we had twins and wanted them both in there.

It works fine. You pull the mattress right up to the bed and then stuff the inch or 2 gap on the other side with a towel or blanket.

ps ours were mothercare cot beds - the middle setting for mattress height was exactly the right height for our bed!

keep your eyes peeled for Brio ones on Ebay. They don't manufacture them anymore but the 'up and over' action of the moveable side is (I think) unique to them and makes it SO easy to use.

PS the Brio is a full-size cot.

I've just spotted one in the baby Boots catalogue. Maybe check it out online.
