Returning to work...

Just a quickie, when I return to work after maternity leave, am I entitled to my exact old job back if it's still there? I.e they can't just replace me? My concern is that they'll try to give me same job but in a different office (an hours drive from home!!!) and this just won't be viable for me... Current office is 20 mins down the road... Can I insist on going back to exact same old job upon my return? I understand if I wanted flexitime or part time it might be different ball game....? Thanks ladies x

my basic understanding of my own companies policy is that up to 9 months i am.entitled to exactly the same job, however upto 12 months i would return.to same level job but not exactly my position, if my job were not available tbh I've never heard of anyone being moved when returning from mla check your policy x

I would check with your HR if you have one, or honestly ask your manager. With my company, they have to put you back into the same role, but can change your location within reason, and as long as you agree to it. If your not happy after asking them, you can see about taking it further and it may be a good idea to get it put into writing, if possible, that you will not be moved to a different location.

Hope it works out for you!

Try asking in employment section.

I think it's 6 months to return to exact role.

Def more hr savvy people over there.

If you return after 26 weeks of maternity leave, you're entitled to the same job back, with same terms and conditions as before.

If you return after a year, you're entitled to a job with the same terms and conditions as before, but not necessarily the exact same job.

Your company maternity policy should also have information about this sort of thing.
