How can I reduce extreme bloating?

I am pregnant and extremely bloated. Not just my bump, but legs, bottom and boobs too. It has been like this since week 5. My whole body feels so swollen that everything I wear feels uncomfortable. Because it happened so early I am sure this isn't extra weight but water and bloating.

Can anyone offer advice on how to reduce it? So uncomfortable!!! Thanks.

Sorry i can't help but i know how you feel, since before i got pregnant and all the way through (i'm 17 weeks) i have really bad bloatedness, some days my belly looks smallish then other days, well most days its HUGE where i look about 8 months gone and its very uncomfortable, where it feels like i've swallowed a balloon.

Watching with interest. I'm 6 weeks and got out my maternity jeans today! I look about 7 months gone.

DH actually looked at me and said "Oh Dear".

I think that you can relieve water retention by keeping hydrated so drink lots of water!

Feet above the head for a while can ease the pressure too (and a nice foot rub when they ache from it Wink).

I had this too, at about 5 weeks. Am now 10 weeks and it has more or less gone (if this helps). Drink lots of non fizzy drinks. Wear leggings and take Fibogel (high fibre orangey drink) it takes a few days to kick in but it worked for me.
The other thing I suggest is basically just hibernate if you can, you feel so horrendous when bloated that it is a bit easier to deal with if you don't have to see anyone. Good luck

I was silly bloated from around 7-13 weeks then it went on it's own accord - I actually looked bigger at 10 weeks than I did at 20 lol. Think it's just one of those things we have to deal with. Sorry not much help at all am I lol

Swimming is supposed to help - the water pressure makes your kidneys work harder

Think it goes on its own eventually. Try peppermint tea tho as it helps me.... x

Thank you very much for all the tips. I'll be trying the fibogel and peppermint tea, hadn't heard those ones before.
