Sick in the bath! :( Solutions... ?!

So at 14+6 and still throwing up, in fact throwing up with more voracity than ever, I've taken to being sick in the bath (that is, empty and not whilst in it!!!!!!!!!). SO disgusting I know, but:

  1. in my pathetic 'everything makes me wretch' state I've become incapable of bringing myself to lean purposefully over our loo because, erm, 'it makes me feel so sick!' - the fact that by the time I arrive in such a position that's probably a bit irrelevant, is completely lost on 'I'm going to be sick' panicked me
  1. it's coming up with such force these days it half fills the flipping bath - at least in terms of 'breadth' - I'm not sure I could direct that sort of force down the narrow confines of the loo.

Anyway, today's been a bad day. I felt terrible after cereal, so followed it with a bagel, pretty plain, just a bit of Philly, in the hope to settle myself. Obviously had the complete opposite effect and all ended up in the bath within 20 mins. But the problem is, whilst I've also up until now been able to wash it all away quite quickly, today, the lumpy, cereal-encrusted bagel concoction will simply not BUDGE! :(

Really don't want poor dp to get home to this - any ideas of how to get rid! (With as minimum contact as possible - keep in mind the uber-sensitivity of my stomach at the moment! Even THINKING of going back in their and looking at it again is pretty BOARK!) Bad times... Who said things get better after 12 weeks?!!!

Afraid its going to be unpleasent. I was sick in the sink at one point and it took ages. If you haven't already, block the plughole. Then you need a bucket lined with a bin liner and scrape what you can out (rubber gloves and cheap cloths/rags, I used each one once and threw it straight. in the bin).

THEN bleach in the bath and lots down the plughole, rinse down with lots of water. Afraid you still need to get out anything that floats up. Then try washing up liquid down the plughole, more water to fore things through. If you have a sink plunger, use that once you've got lots of water in the bath.

Hope that clears it, the next step involves taking the plumbing of the bath apart which you might need a plumber for!

And then keep the bucket handy and empty it down the loo each time you are sick. Don't use the bath again!

Run the shower until it goes away on its own?

Peasandyoghurt · 10/02/2012 18:09

Oh BigFat, I've tried and tried that, that's what I've done before and assumed would work this time. Totally slovenly I know, but I'm just being sick so often and feeling sick even directly after it's all I've been able to face (plus a bit of bleach, obviously!)

Thanks MrsHoarder, shamefully I ended up waiting til DP got home, well I called him earlier to tell him what happened and, legend that he is, he said he'd do it when he got home. Such a relief! Lesson learned though - I'm clearly going to have to learn to face the loo once more!

I can't get to the loo - I have two buckets with lids Blush but you don't need to get down to anywhere and it just tips down the loo, grab shower head rinse, rept put in some cleaner - I have two 'just in case'

This is an improvement on my last pregnancy where we were using the mop bucket - DH took it away to deal with it and had to come running back to a full pint glass of sick, he only just got the bucket under my nose before I was sick into thin air - it is the only time I've ever seen him retch (and now he tells everyone about the time I filled a pint glass with sick!)

Buckets all the way from now on...

Peasandyoghurt · 11/02/2012 11:47

Bucket-shopping Saturday it is then...

I did as trickle. But with a bowl in sink then chuck bowl in loo and wash.
