Pregnancy insomnia any tips?

I'm 33 weeks at the minute & starting to get that wonderful insomnia. Last night I was awake from about 3ish. It's not so much discomfort as complete inability to drift back off.

This didn't start until a bit later (36ish) last time & as I was childless and on mat leave it didn't really matter. I now have a very active (no other sort!) 2 year old who pings awake at 6.30, luckily or not I'm a sahm, but I get very little down time & can only catch a few zzzz if dd naps in afternoon.

I'm currently so tired I'm worried about driving. Going to bed earlier seems to make it worse, I wake up earlier!

Any top tips?

I've been listening to a hypno birthing app on my iPhone which does a really good job of relaxing me and sending me to sleep.

Because it's relaxing or dull? :) I'll have a look at that, thank you.

Haha I'm not sure really have not managed more than 5 minutes of it!!

I am glad I am not the only one that falls asleep during the hypno birthing CD lol. Apparently your sub concious still picks up the words. I too had problems sleeping and listen to relaxation CD's or I get up and have a bath. I put a pillow under my bump or between my legs that makes me feel more relaxed.

I feel your pain, I am 34 weeks, have a 2 year old too, and also awake and restless at 4.30 ish every morning. So over it. I seem to fall asleep ok, so my response is to just go to bed earlier and earlier and clock up the hours!!! It is so frustrating as I know I'm not even at the "unbearably uncomfortable" stage of pregnancy yet, let alone the post baby months and months of broken nights and feeds. Pants.

Same joy. I was in more pain with PGP a couple of months ago & slept better. I'm bricking it ever so slightly about the constant boobs out all night phase!
