alternatives to salty foods?

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and am still suffering from nausea when I eat (not at other times). Everything tastes horrible unless I add a lot of salt to it. I'm trying to eat healthily but I can't face eg today's trout and rice risotto without dousing it in soya sauce. Same with meat. Dahl has no taste, neither does potatoes. Crisps, chocolates, ready-meals on the other hand are fine. I'm trying to cut down drastically on sweet things which leaves me turning to the salty food for taste. Any suggestions on how to make the food taste less bland without adding so much salt?

dunno but i had a craving for salty things too!

i think you just have to grin and bear it. eat your regular meals with no salt (or less salt) but treat yourself with snacks here and there

Would you try something like LoSalt, so that you could carry on getting the taste of the salt without getting all of the nasties that go with it?

Thing is Starlover, it is more than a craving. I can't eat my normal foods without gagging unless I have something strong tasting to take their taste away - which is why I am using things like Soya sauce. I suppose I could try plain yoghurt to disguise the taste but wondered what other solutions there were.

I don't have much to add besides sympathy I'm afraid - I'm exactly the same. When I eat healthy food it comes straight back up, but when I eat salty crisps etc they stay down... I'm trying so hard to eat the right foods, but they just make my nausea worse. Sometimes if I eat just a small handful of crisps it takes the nausea away enough for me to get a proper unsalted homecooked meal inside me. So I just try to reduce the quantity of the salty stuff and just have a tiny bit to calm my stomach before the 'proper' meal. Doesn't always work though...
Sorry I don't have great advice, but I do feel for you!
