I am a terribly disorganised pregnant person in my 3rd trimester and I want to copy you.

People keep asking me if I'm all ready. Um, no.

I've dug out some baby clothes and will get around to washing them this week. But I don't know if I'm having a girl or a boy, so I don't know whether to wash girl or boy clothes. Oh, and I need to buy NON-BIO I think. Is that right?

I've bought some nappies and breast pads.

I feel I ought to pack a hospital bag but I can't for the life of me think what to put in it.

I haven't written a birth plan, but I have a good idea of what to expect, and have opinions about all the Stuff That Happens. I shall just talk to people as I go along.

I've probably got some nursing bras somewhere. I can dig them out too.

What else should I be doing?

Oooh, maternity pads! I'll need some of them.

Anything else? TELL ME. I'll be your best friend if you do. In fact we could be pregnancy buddies in that time-honoured completely mismatched personality type way. It would be hillarious.

Top tip - take your own painkillers - nothing like being offered 2 paracetamol after you've push summat the size of a watermelon out of your fanj.

Ha! I started this thread a month ago. I am now a week overdue. Only this morning I said to my husband "I really must finish packing my hospital bag today".

Grin

Did you finish your birth plan yet?

SilentBoob · 01/03/2012 12:17

No written birth plan, but am outside uk and have discussedmy preferences with my doctor who will be there at the birth. They generally only have 1 or 2 women in labour at any one time so there'll be time and space to talk to the midwives.

Alternative answer: absolutely no one would read it if I did write it!

Just been reading through this and, whilst being impressed by how organised everyone is, I also thought - are 0-3 months too big for a newborn? Ooooh.....didn't know that!

Shock

We have picked 2 names as we haven't found out what we're having...didn't realise I could count that on teh list of Things That Have Been Done :)

spannermary · 02/03/2012 10:51

OK, yummy, I'm totally intimidated now!! 80+ items!

I'm heading towards 35 weeks, and we have a couple of packs of vests, and a couple of packs of sleepsuits, and then a few cardies etc that my mum and sister have knitted.

And then more older baby stuff that has been donated by our friends (which I really need to sort through.

Need to get mobile and playmat sorted. And scratch mits, hats, etc. And muslins, baby monitor, baby first aid kit (ear thermometer and syringes anyone!?)

In terms of toys we have basically nothing - other than a few soft toys and freebies, and things my mum and dad have stored in their loft from when I was a baby in the 70s!

jaggythistle it counts it is really important. Smile

spannermary the babies room looks like an NCT nearly new sale, We ordering a double wardrobe (I think a triple might be better. LOL). I love to shop and as I am now a large whale DS gets my monthly clothing alowance spent on him. More to the point I am a little anual when it comes to organisation (I say a little what I mean to say is completly whack a doodle, up the wall, need to get a life organised) Wink

We bought the cutest baby set really early on that has various baby care bits in such as a thermometer. Although I am wondering if we need a second one for drawing a bath (my elbow can't seem to tell me if my own bath water is too hot. Only a burnt toe or bottom does that) Smile
