... any ideas why? Doesn't it always happen? I thought that I would have had it by now but, nothing. Unless the bugger came and went without notice.

You potentially have 4 weeks of pregnancy ahead of you yet. I did see my show both times, and it happened immediately before my waters broke, which has always been the kick start of an immediate labour for me, so no real warning as such. Not everyone sees it though.

thanks :) Pregnancy books sometimes make me feel a bit inadequate. "This should be happening now", "really? That hasn't happened to me at all" kind of feeling, if I make any sense.

i had no show with both of my pregs (had induction and they broke my waters with both pgs). doesnt happen to everyone. good luck.

You could have another 3-4 weeks to go yet so wouldn't worry about it. Mw told me some people don't have one/don't notice it. Smile

My show with dd3 happened 4 hours into a 5 hour labour, the other two were inductions and I had nothing beforehand, try not to worry there's not a lot you can do to change things

Thank you ladies Thanks I knew that you would come through for me and ease my hyper active mind. I know that I should be used to it by now, but it is still hard having my mum so faraway in situations like this. Also not having many female friends that have had babies to ask these kinds of questions, can sometimes be a bit of a hindrance. I now have a few male friend with babies, but I can't exactly turn to them and ask, "By the way, when did your wife/girlfriend had her show?"
Not sure if they would barf first and run later or vice-versa :o

Not sure why you think you would get a sHow so early? It normally happens at the most a few days before labour and it is more likely that will be several weeks off - unless you have been to,d you are likely to deliver early?

MiauMau · 30/01/2012 17:35

that's what the book said...

I never had a show with my first pregnancy, and my waters didn't break either at 10cm they had to pop it for me :)

Joygirl78 · 30/01/2012 19:41

The show normally occurs a few days or less before labour begins, so while it's very possible it could be very early in the last trimester, that would only be if you are also going to deliver early as well. Statistically that is not likely. Don't worry. No show at 37 weeks is extemely normal and in fact a lot of women never see one. I had dd1 at 37+2 after waters broke but I never saw a show
