Well you can't get pregnant with it in, that's the point. Have you really thought this through? Going from wanting a pretty longterm form of birth control to a baby 2 months later seems a little brash? The reason they want you to keep it in for 6 months is that it costs the NHS a lot of money for the implant, not a reason for them to say they won't take it out I suppose, but I can see where they're coming from.

yes, I have thought it through the only reason why i got the implant is because i got pregnant and miscarried and i didnt want to get pregnant again plus i had a stillborn last feb so that has left me pretty scared to become pregnant again but i know its what i want.

I'm pretty sure there's no way of getting pregnant with the implant. I'm sorry that you lost your babies - maybe it would be a good thing for you to wait until the time when the implant is due to come out to sort out your feeling about losing your babies - try and see it as a positive time rather than just waiting for the time for it to come out - DYKWIM?

I'm surprised actually though that the NHS can refuse to remove it - is that right?

yeah maybe you are right maybe i should just wait a bit but its weird coz the it seems the longer i wait the more i want to try.

yes the NHS can refuse to take it out if you ask them to take it out in the first 6 months without a good enough reason.

I'm sure you do want to try, but there's no rush is there? Better to deal with your grief - have you had some counselling? Do you have plenty of support?

Look after yourself until May and then you can have the implant out and start trying. Smile
